Based on survey data and quantitative method, this paper studies the compatibility between educational background and career option of vocational school graduates and college graduates. The findings are summarized as follows: firstly, more than forty percent of vocational school graduates report that their filed of study and job are not related; secondly, the degree of compatibility between educational background and career option of vocational school graduates is much lower than that of college graduates; thirdly, the degree of compatibility is also affected by several factors, such as gender, field of study and internship experiences; lastly, the compatibility between educational background and career option has an effect on both kinds of graduates' salary without noticeable difference. Based on these findings, the author puts forward some policy suggestions. |
