This report uses structural equation modeling to combine traditional ideas from repeated-measures ANOVA with some traditional ideas from longitudinal factor analysis. A longitudinal model that includes correlations, variances, and means is described as a latent growth curve model (LGM). When merged with repeated-measures data, this technique permits the estimation of parameters representing both individual and group dynamics. The statistical basis of this model allows hypothesis testing of various developmental ideas, including models of alternative dynamic functions and models of the sources of individual differences in these functions. Aspects of these latent growth models are illustrated with a set of longitudinal WISC data from young children and by using the LISREL V computer program. 相似文献

This paper describes a regression approach to experimental design. Typically, the educational researcher is familiar with the usual analysis of variance techniques and is unaware of the versatility of multiple regression for problem solving. The specific approach used in this paper assumes only a familiarity with experimental design and access to a general purpose multiple regression program which is likely to be on hand at any computer installation. System identification is a method for using measured data to create or improve a mathematical model of the object being tested. From the measured data however, noise is noticed at the beginning of the response. One solution to avoid this noise problem is to skip the noisy data and then use the initial conditions as active parameters, to be found by using the system identification process. This paper describes the development of the equations for setting up the initial conditions as active parameters. The simulated data and response data from actual shear buildings were used to prove the accuracy of both the algorithm and the computer program, which include the initial conditions as active parameters. The numerical and experimental model analysis showed that the value of mass, stiffness and frequency were very reasonable and that the computed acceleration and measured acceleration matched very well. 相似文献

In social science research, an indirect effect occurs when the influence of an antecedent variable on the effect variable is mediated by an intervening variable. To compare indirect effects within a sample or across different samples, structural equation modeling (SEM) can be used if the computer program supports model fitting with nonlinear constraints. However, such an option is not routinely available in every popular software program. In this study, the basic idea of generating covariance-equivalent models in SEM is given and a sequential model fitting method is proposed as an alternative without the need to use nonlinear constraints. Under this method, the hypothesized model is transformed into a set of successive covariance-equivalent models so that an indirect effect is reparameterized as a single model parameter in the final transformed model. Real examples are given to illustrate how the proposed method is implemented using EQS, a SEM program that currently does not support the analysis with nonlinear constraints. 相似文献
