发展交际能力是英语教学的最终目的。语言能力是交际能力的基础,然而具备了语言能力并不意味着具备了交际能力。越来越多的人已达成共识,即交际能力应包括五个方面:四种技能(听说读写)加上社会能力(即和不同文化背景的人们进行合适交际的能力)。但英语教学中,教师往往比较重视语言的外在形式和语法结构,即培养学生造出合乎语法规则的句子,而忽视了语言的社会环境,特别是语言的文化差异,致使学生难以知道什么场合该说什么话,从而忽视了学生交际能力的培养。因此,语言的文化差异在英语教学中的作用作为一个重要问题被提了出来。  相似文献

Epistemological knowledge of mathematics in social learning settings is an important type of professional knowledge for mathematics teachers because it refers to social and interactive processes of communication. This article focuses on one central aspect of epistemological mathematical knowledge, namely on the problematique of how mathematical signs and symbols gain meaning in the interactive social processes of teaching and learning. A teaching episode is presented and analyzed from an epistemological perspective. This analysis leads to the identification of three important components of epistemological knowledge that could be introduced into the education of mathematics teachers: the developmental nature of mathematical knowledge; interactive social processes of mathematical communication as autonomous systems; and the interdependence of social and epistemological constraints in mathematical communication. This case study examined patterns in online communication using computer-mediated discourse analysis to better understand how teaching presence, social presence, and cognitive presence are manifested in an online learning environment. The findings indicate that study participants actively participated in the discussion. The instructor and facilitators displayed high teaching presence through posting encouraging social words and maintaining a positive emotional tone, which created an open communication environment for student discussion. To promote students’ cognitive development, the acts that their words described included to “inform” and “elaborate” to help students construct knowledge by providing factual information and extending or embellishing upon points made. Students displayed social presence by using more social and positive emotion words, and tone, which signaled that they were satisfied with the discussion. Students’ cognitive presence was manifested through making claims, providing information and elaboration on posted comments.  相似文献

This study investigates the phases of development of synchronous and asynchronous virtual communication produced in a community of inquiry (CoI) by analyzing the internal structure of each intervention in the forum and each chat session to determine the evolution of their social, cognitive and teaching character. It also analyzes the participating higher education students' satisfaction with the activities, with the professors' actions, and with themselves. We use a mixed methodology that includes content analysis of the virtual communications by crossing two categorization systems: (1) type of communication according to the model adopted from Garrison, Anderson and Archer (social, cognitive and teaching presence) and (2) phases in the evolution of the communication (initiation, proposal, development, opinion/closing and good‐byes). The data are relevant to the students' satisfaction and grades earned. The results suggest differences in the quantity and content of the communication in each phase and an evolution from social to cognitive elements, ending with social contributions. The students are satisfied with the virtual communications related to both the activities and the professors and evaluate themselves positively.  相似文献

The current study evaluated the turn-taking skills of preschoolers with disabilities who participated in a social communication intervention that targeted initiations, responses, and turn-taking skills, and taught children to repair and revise and to avoid interruptions and overlaps. Ten children who enrolled in an inclusive at-risk classroom met the inclusion criteria. A multiple baseline design across two dyads replicated across three additional dyads was used to determine the effects of the intervention. The social communication intervention was highly effective for five children, moderately effective for three children, and mildly effective for two children in increasing the rate of initiations with an immediate peer response from baseline to intervention. The social communication intervention was highly effective for one child, moderately effective for three children, mildly effective for two children, and ineffective for four children in improving turn-taking skills. Generalization results showed that nine out of ten participants demonstrated increased peer play following the intervention, increased levels of child-initiated interactions with a positive peer response, and decreased levels of solitary play. Several implications for practice were derived from the findings. By teaching children turn-taking strategies, the quality of social interactions that children have with their peers is likely to improve. The intervention offers a more systematic technique for teaching social communication and play skills than do informal strategies commonly used by teachers. Social validity assessments indicated that teachers found the intervention acceptable and produced important changes in behavior.  相似文献

Language is a social communication tool, and has the inseparable relationship with the social culture. In rcent years, with the acceleration of reform and opening up, foreign exchanges become more frequent, and cross-cultural communication in every nation become the indispensable part of life. But cultural differences are cross-cultural communication barriers, which has become a common problem facing the world. Therefore, culture plays a very important role in English teaching, which is widely acknowledged by English teaching circle.
