本文研究围绕四个问题:什么是效度?什么是信度?它们之间的关系怎样?中学英语写作考试如何实现效度与信度的统一?语言测试的基本要求是效度和信度,效度指测试内容能否真实反映考生在现实生活中的语言整体运用的能力,信度指测试结果是否可靠可信。效度与信度的基本关系既是互相依存,却又互相矛盾。通过对全国高考英语试卷中的写作部分的分析,本文说明了好的语言测试应当努力实现效度与信度的统一,在效度与信度之间积极妥协、保持平衡。  相似文献

信度和效度是语言测试理论中的两个重要概念,因为它们是衡量语言测试质量的重要依据。大学英语考试最近一次大规模改革已过去三年,但是国内对新题型的信度和效度研究才刚起步。本文通过实验,用定性和定量的方法对新大学英语六级考试听力测试的信度和效度进行了研究。研究结果表明新大学英语六级考试听力测试的外部信度较高而内部信度较改革前有下滑;内容效度较改革前没有提高而标准相关效度较高。  相似文献

关于语言测试效度与信度的论证由来已久,莫衷一是。一方面,教师和学生对我国现行的英语水平考试在效度与信度的权重取向中偏向信度,从而导致人们对学生高分低能的现象大加责难;另一方面,教师和学生在教学和学习过程中急功近利,为考试而学习,为考试而考试,忽视学生真实语言水平和语言能力的培养,忽视考试的效度,这两种态度均不可取。从信度与效度的角度出发,结合我国现行的英语测试形式论述该如何选取英语测试形式。  相似文献

The increasing use of criteria‐based approaches to assessment and grading in higher education is a consequence of its sound theoretical rationale and its educational effectiveness. This article is based on a review of the most common grading policies that purport to be criteria‐based. The analysis shows that there is no common understanding of what criteria‐based means or what it implies for practice. This has inhibited high‐quality discourse, research and development among scholars and practitioners. Additionally, the concepts of ‘criteria’ and ‘standards’ are often confused and, despite the use of criteria, the fundamental judgments teachers make about the quality of student work remain subjective and substantially hidden from the students’ view. As they stand, none of the approaches identified in the survey is fully capable of delivering on the aspirations of criteria‐based grading. Shifting the primary focus to standards and making criteria secondary could, however, lead to substantial progress.  相似文献

The growing number of high‐functioning adults seeking accommodations from testing agencies and postsecondary institutions presents an urgent need to ensure reliable and valid diagnostic decision making. The potential for this population to make significant contributions to society will be greater if we provide the learning and testing accommodations to allow them access to knowledge, as well as the means to demonstrate their extraordinary abilities. The criteria and decision making used to identify high‐functioning adults with learning disabilities (LD) must be robust yet flexible enough to account for individual differences, measurement fallibility, and examiner expertise. The purpose of this article is to explore legal, measurement, and clinical issues surrounding the provision of accommodations to high‐functioning individuals with LD.  相似文献

This article deals with a pioneering project currently being developed, namely, the Exhibition on Testing and Measurement. This interactive traveling exhibition will be presented in science museums in Israel, the United States, and other countries. It has been conceived as an innovative means of familiarizing the public with educational measurement concepts and scientific principles. The exhibition will initiate and encourage a dialogue regarding the social aspects of testing. Science centers and museums can play a vital role in helping to forge a more authentic relationship between science and society. Presenting an exhibition on testing and measurement in a science museum is an excellent way to engage the public in a discussion on the benefits and risks of measurement in our society. In this article we discuss the opportunities that this exhibition offers the challenges of converting theory into interactive exhibits, the feedback received thus far, and the current status of the exhibition.  相似文献

Developing and sustaining quality leadership is imperative for the overall health of our discipline. Part of our responsibility as educators is to think about how best to encourage this ongoing process. This article examines strategies for fostering disciplinary leadership, handing each other along, and being handed along, in various ways. One aspect is quality mentorship—developing relationships built on discernment, responsibility, and trust. This means the mentor and mentee spend time setting goals and assessing progress. The second aspect involves a broad understanding of human movement and a commitment to critical thinking. The mentor promotes an interdisciplinary understanding of kinesiology, as well as cultivates a reasoned and creative thought process. By working proactively to develop leadership through these means, we increase our chance of improving our discipline for future generations.  相似文献

The interest in assessment for learning (AfL) has resulted in a search for new modes of assessment that are better aligned to students’ learning how to learn. However, with the introduction of new assessment tools, also questions arose with respect to the quality of its measurement. On the one hand, the appropriateness of traditional, psychometric criteria is being questioned in the context of assessment for learning. On the other hand, it has been argued that new criteria need to be formulated to acknowledge the unique features of assessment for learning. The issue dealt with in this review is what quality criteria are specifically relevant to AfL. Studies using (peer) assessment for learning were evaluated with regard to use of quality criteria under two perspectives: their recognition of educational measurement criteria, as well as their consideration of student involvement in the assessment of learning. The selected studies were analyzed to determine what specific criteria were utilized in (successive parts of) the assessment cycle (i.e., the process of construction, administration and follow up of an assessment). Our results indicate that quality criteria are dissimilarly connected to the distinct steps of an assessment cycle, which holds as well for the attention given to student involvement in assessment for learning.  相似文献
