This study examines the micro-contextual factors related to early bilingualism in Taiwan that might enhance or hinder children's language acquisition. The major research method was ethnography. Data were gathered from two groups of mixed children--non-language-delayed and language-delayed--from families with Southeast Asian immigrant mothers. The theoretical framework used was new literacy studies. Similarities and differences were both found in the home literacy contexts of the delayed and non-delayed groups. Father-child literacy events and the mother's language orientation upon arrival seemed to be nearly identical. The differences between the two groups consisted of certain aspects of the home language environments. The home literacy contexts of the language-delayed group appeared to be more restricted in terms of language diversity, mother-child literacy events, and the mother's Chinese proficiency, social circles, and attitude toward school. Bilingualism did not seem to cause delays in language development in Taiwanese children.  相似文献

CSL (Chinese as a second language) learning is an emergency task in Taiwan, especially when more and more new immigrants joined in Taiwan. However, there are just a few new immigrants who can finish all language courses. For this reason, this research intends to provide a training system to assist new immigrants observing and learning the phrase structure. In this paper, the researchers design a system which can help new immigrants to form Chinese sentences by applying colligation and collocation technology.  相似文献

Why is Norway, the first nation in the world defining digital literacy, as the fifth basic competence in the national curriculum? How has epistemological and ontological issues influenced educational technology and how has this influenced discourse of educational technology in curricula which have led to today's "technology friendly curriculum"? These are central questions in this paper and one of the main aims within the paper is to analyze what kind of impacts, such underlying epistemological and ontological aspect, has been given in Norwegian curricula throughout the last decades in light of Koschmann's (1996) technological paradigms. As consequence of this, the paper will highlight the most relevant discourses about educational technology in different curricula as an entry point to ask, if the increased ICT (Information and Communication Technology) status in the new national curriculum has established new discourses and got any impact in the practice field yet.  相似文献

Multimodal as digital literacies are,they have still been text-based.It has been a great concern that due to the popularity of speech-like writing style online,digital literacies have brought informal speech expressions into formal standard writing,and thus increasing the possibility to ruin the standard writing language.On the other hand,although there are moral panics of the survival of standard written languages,scholars and popular media show great tolerance for online languages.In addition,it has been proved that some frequent participants in digital literacies nowadays are capable of both online language and standard offline language,indicating that they are well aware of the different registers of language use and therefore of high language literacy.Furthermore,researches suggest several possible merits of digital literacies,including saving young people from social isolation and depression,providing people with more opportunities to learn new things and to practice the instructional writing,calling for thorough consideration and elaborate editing and encouraging brief and clear writing style.  相似文献

This article highlights how the digital revolution, high technology density, digital confident students and the new educational reform necessitates other theoretical gateways in our contemporary school system. Today we find a consensus among policy-makers, researchers, teacher educators and teachers that competence aims and digital literacy must be given high priority and needs to be explored more deeply in our elementary school as a consequence of the implementation of a new national curriculum. Despite this consensus, ICT (information and Communication Technology) in previous curricula have been marked by weak theoretical foundations, and therefore implementation of ICT has been more strongly anchored rhetorically than in teacher's theoretical ballast. Consequently, this article focuses on whether we now in the new educational reform, the knowledge promotion, are entering a time of upheaval within this area where the increased status of digital literacy and competence aims in the subjects necessitates new, or complementary theories which can capture some of these digital challenges. While the increasing development of modern information technology, the globalization is becoming an obvious feature on educational situations. Therefore, mastering some necessary bilingual competencies will present essential meaning for educators. As a method of bridging language and culture, translation has played a significant part in connecting the ideas of people all over the world and accelerating the communication in politics, economy, culture, education, science and technology. China has increased cultural exchanges with many other countries, and a great number of foreign films have flooded into our country. Thus, how to appropriately translate the foreign films becomes an urgent issue. In the process of translating English films to Chinese ones, the translator should use a method to attend to the content of the movie itself, especially recreational artistic features, as well as tremendous differences between English language and Chinese language culture. This paper attempts to compare the different film versions of Pride and Prejudice (edition 1995), and analyzes the examples of literal translation and free translation in order to reveal the difficulty of which translation method to choose in film translation. Thus, based on the comparison, we could get a tentative result that which kind of film version is more accepted by most audiences so that we can provide the film translators some new train of thought.  相似文献

Linguistic subjectivity is pervasive in almost all the utterances.Language without speaker’s affect,judgment and view point doesn’t exist.Idioms constitute one important part of the language and culture.Knowing a language includes knowing idioms in that language.Variation is one important aspect to idiom.Different from ordinary phrases,idioms tend to be frozen in form and meaning and don’t allow change in structure and meaning.However,variation is one important aspect to idiom.The words of some idioms can be moved orsubsti tuted by other words.The syntactic structure of idioms can be altered.Some idioms function as normal sequence of grammatical words.They have changes in tense and aspect.All these changes contribute to the creation of idiom variation.Speakers create new idiom out of the original ones by modifying the original idiom to convey extra meanings.Idiom variations are the results of people’s creative use of language.  相似文献

This position paper highlights existing and emerging, prospective digital divides in Norwegian schools and asks whether we are now moving from traditional digital divides to digital inequality in our digitized society and schools. Despite very good technology density in Norwegian society and schools in general, there is the reason to pay attention to whether this situation creates new kinds of digital inequalities among already vulnerable pupil groups. Therefore, this position paper focuses on whether under the new Norwegian educational reform. The Knowledge Promotion, it is necessary to consider this issue from another angle because of e.g. the increased status of digital literacy and implementation of ICT-based (Information and Communication Technology) exams in the national curriculum. Language has changed greatly in the information age. Linguistic changes markedly reflect on the lexical aspects, for words are the most active factors in language. Netspeak is a kind of special language which is between spoken language and written language. Essentially, as a social variance of the modem language, it changes with the type or style of the language depending on the differences of the language carriers. It is an identity denotation for surfers on the Internet and a medium or tool for them to challenge traditions. This paper analyses the features and word-formation of netspeak.
