IDRC has telecentre evaluation initiatives in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Each of these is in the process of establishing evaluation frameworks and each is adopting very different approaches. The current paper seeks to build on the outputs of IDRC's Far Hills Workshop on Telecentre Evaluation (September 1999) to explore the experiences in two of the three regions. These explorations will in turn contribute to IDRC's current initiative to develop a framework for ICTs evaluation.The Far Hills Workshop, and the resulting report entitled Telecentre Evaluation: A Global Perspective, had as objectives to explore challenges and opportunities for telecentre evaluation; understand and compare emerging evaluation frameworks and methodologies; assess needs and resources available; identify salient issues affecting telecentre performance; and provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and lessons across regions. 相似文献

AbstractLibrary automation assumed a great deal of importance in libraries in the mid 1960’s. Since then it has become a household word in librarianship. Library automation in university libraries in Ghana is a relatively new concept. Even though computers have been installed in the three university libraries in Ghana, computerization has not had much impact on the services provided by these libraries. This paper reviews the computerization projects in the university libraries in Ghana, with a particular reference to the Balme Library of the University of Ghana. Reasons for automation, areas of application and problems associated with automation are discussed. Also highlighted are barriers militating against successful university library automation, like financial problems, attitudinal problems, lack of co-operation among university libraries, hardware and software problems and personnel problems. Recommendations are made for the improvement of automation at the university libraries in Ghana. 信息素养评价标准是信息素养教育评价的依据,也是准确判断人们信息素养程度与水平的标尺。国外信息素养评价标准的研究已经成为热点并出台了比较成熟的各种信息素养评价标准。本文在回顾国内外主要信息素养评价标准的基础上,对比分析得知,两者在信息素养评价标准的框架结构、核心内容,以及标准的可操作性都不强上具有相同点。但两者在研制主体、规范成熟程度、图书馆在其中的地位和作用以及标准的实施方式等方面存在明显的差别。最后,文章提出为加快我国信息素养评价标准的研制,应尽快成立国家层面的管理机构,出台国家性质的通用信息素养评价标准,确立图书馆专业协会在其中的作用,完善我国信息素养评价标准的指标体系和标准的实施方式。 相似文献
