Some partial derivative properties of the impedance function of a resistively-terminated network which is a cascade of m lossless two-ports of variables p1 to pm dre established. Those cases where some of the lossless two-ports are lowpass or highpass ladder networks with all of their transmission zeros at the origin or at infinity are also examined. Necessary and sufficient conditions involving partial derivatives and under which an m-variable reactance or positive real function can be realized as the impedance function of a pi-variable lowpass or highpass ladder network, with all of its transmission zeros at pi = 0 or pi = ∞, and terminated in a reactance or positive real impedance function in the other variables are derived.  相似文献

In this paper necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for a two-variable positive real function to be the driving-point impedance of certain classes of doubly-terminated lossless ladder networks. Specifically, two classes of networks are studied: (a) the class of networks in which the lossless structure is a cascade of p1- and p2-variable two-ports, each two-port having its transmission zeros at the origin and/or at infinity; (b) the class of networks in which the lossless structure is a lowpass or highpass ladder network with series arms having p1- and p2-type elements in series and shunt arms having the p1- and p2-type elements in parallel. It is indicated that via suitable transformations of the variables, conditions for many other types of ladder structures can be derived.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new wave digital filter derived from doubly terminated LC-ladder networks by replacing each series or shunt arm element of the ladder by its equivalent digital two-port. It is shown that such two-ports may be cascaded without the use of adapters defined by Fettweis (1). A number of realizations of the wave digital two-ports, which are canonic with respect to both multipliers and delays, have been obtained. Also a realization which is canonic with respect to multipliers only is given and an example considered using this realization. The sensitivity of this filter with respect to the multiplier coefficient changes due to finite word length is compared with the conventional cascaded digital filter and also the one proposed by Renner and Gupta. It is found that the proposed filter appears to be a more desirable form of implementation than the conventional cascade form and comparable to that of Renner and Gupta (2).  相似文献

A new set of realizability conditions for the driving point impedance of a passive-lumped-terminated cascade of lossless two-ports separated by noncommensurate transmission lines is presented. The proposed set of realizability conditions eliminates the multivariable positive-reality requirement in favour of some simpler explicit conditions. Formulae for the chain matrices of the lumped lossless two-ports and the terminating impedance function are also given. Examples are provided to illustrate the main results.  相似文献

In this paper, positive-real systems under lossless positive-real transformations are investigated. Let G(s) be the transfer function matrix of a continuous-time positive-real system of order n and F(s) a lossless transfer function of order nF. We prove here that the lossless positive-real transformed system, i.e. G(F(s)), is also positive-real. Furthermore, the stochastic balanced representation of positive-real systems under lossless positive-real transformations is considered. In particular, it is proved that the positive-real characteristic values πj of G(F(s)) are the same of G(s) each with multiplicity nF, independently from the choice of F(s). This property is exploited in the design of reduced order models based on stochastic balancing. Finally, the proposed technique is a passivity preserving model order reduction method, since it is proven that the reduced order model of G(F(s)) is still positive-real. An error bound for truncation related to the invariants πj is also derived.  相似文献

Studies of two-element-kind ladder networks are well known in the classical literature, among them, the most celebrated ones are due to Cauer. Driving point immittance function synthesis by using continued fractions to obtain the series and shunt arm L-C element values is a standard and routine work. The idea of introducing a class of more general networks, the inhomogeneous ladder networks, was first developed by Lee and Brown, and subsequently the synthesis techniques of such a network were established.In this paper, new results are found such as: (1) the Iff. conditions of the existence of an inhomogeneous ladder network by a given chain matrix of the network satisfying: (a) determinant of the chain matrix is 1; (b) the zeros of A(s) and z?1B(s) or A(s) and y?1C(s) alternate with respect to [z(s)y(s), k] with an appropriate leading set of zeros of A(s); (c) the poles of A(s) and z?1B(s) or A(s) and y?1C(s) are the poles of z(s)y(s) of multiplicity of n and n?1, where n the number of sections of ladder networks; (2) the Iff. condition for the inhomogeneous ladder network to be optimal is that it be antimetrical, whereas for the extended class of inhomogeneous ladder networks it is symmetrical, where an optimal inhomogeneous ladder network is defined as the corresponding network with the minimum sum of immittance levels in the series and shunt arms; (3) algorithms of synthesis procedures were developed as the by-products of the Theorems.  相似文献

The general mth order difference equation X(n+m)+a1X(n+m?1)+…+amX(n) = F[n,X(n),…,X(n+m?1)] is considered. The stability properties of its solutions are studied using the discrete form of Liapunov's direct method. A quadratic form is selected as a possible Liapunov function V(n,X) and a scheme is developed for determining appropriate conditions on this function to insure that its total difference ΔV(n,X) is negative semi-definite or negative definite with respect to the difference equation. The approach is applied to the fourth-order difference equation in full detail to illustrate the method for determining the conditions which imply either uniform stability or uniform asymptotic stability and specific results are obtained. Several comments on, and extensions of, the work done by Puri and Drake for the cases m = 2 and m = 3 are presented.The results of the present approach in the homogeneous case where F[n,X(n),…,X(n+m?1)] = 0 are compared with the usual Schur-Cohn criteria and are shown to be at least as good.  相似文献

A simple theory is presented for decoupling a pair of lossless coupled nonuniform transmission lines (CNUTL), with a common return and supporting TEM waves, into two lossless nonuniform transmission lines (NUTL). This theory is independent of the port terminations, symmetry conditions, etc. The method directly relates the line parameters of the lossless CNUTL's to those of the decoupled lines and vice versa; further, the matrix parameters of the CNUTL's as a four-port are explicitly expressed in terms of those of the decoupled lines as two-ports. This theory is then utilized to study the applications of CNUTL's as directional couplers.It is shown that for CNUTL's to behave as a codirectional coupler, each of the decoupled lines should be a proportional line, while for contradirectional coupler action, the two decoupled lines have to be duals of each other. The coupling response of the codirectional coupler is found to be periodic, while the phase shift between coupled and transmitted signals varies linearly with frequency. The coupling response of various contradirectional couplers with smooth transition at one of the ends, for which the decoupled lines are “basic NUTL's with hyperbolic solutions”, are studied in detail. It is shown that all these couplers have a high-pass response and that the CNUTL's with “hyperbolic cosine squared lines” as decoupled lines have the best response of all the CNUTL's considered.  相似文献

A basic theorem describing the convexity of the energy domain for the general family of linear time-invariant (active or passive, reciprocal or non-reciprocal, lumped or distributed, single variable or multivariable) physical system {T} is proved.Theorem: Let F = P + jQ represent the complex energy associated with any linear physical system T (n-port). For any specified excitation of frequency s and the family of constant energy content input signals {i:∥i∥= constant}, the point F describes a convex domain in the {P;Q} plane.Part I contains a mathematical and a network theoretic proof of the foregoing theorem. In Part II the geometric nature of the energy loci for the two-ports is examined. It is shown that for all two-ports with double eigenvalves the energy domain is circular. For two-ports with distinct eigenvalves, the convex energy domain is an ellipse. The geometric characterization of this elliptic domain is examined and examples verified by computer.The concept of convexity is frequently exploited in optimization of energy in electric power system and quadratic cost functions in control theory. In this respect the central theorem of this paper, its proof and geometric ramifications should prove to be of basic interest for all linear systems.  相似文献

A well-known discrete stability test is used to derive from the denominator D(z) of a given stable high-order transfer function G(z), the denominator of a low-order approximant of G(z). The proposed method, based on the truncation and inversion of a continued fraction formed with the coefficients of D(z), yields a reduced denominator d(z) of degree, say m, which is always stable. Furthermore, depending on the neglected parts of the continued fraction, d(z) approximates m1 and m2 = mm1 zeros of D(z), located very near the points z=1 and z=-1, respectively. In the special case m1=m, d(z) is identical to the polynomial obtained by applying to D(z) the indirect technique, which combines the bilinear transformation with the Routh or the Schwarz approximation method.  相似文献

Let χm+1=T(χm) or even χm+1=T(χm,χm?1, …, χm?q), m=1,2,3 … be an iteration method for solving the nonlinear problem F(χ)=0, where F(χ) and its derivatives possess all of the properties required by T(χm). Then if it can be established that for the problem at hand ∥F(χm+1)∥?βm∥F(χm)∥, ? m > M0 (M0<∞) and 0?βm<1 , definitions are established and theorems proven concerning convergence, uniqueness and bounds on the error after ‘m’ successive iterations of a new approach to convergence properties T(χm). These charateristics are referred to as “alternate” (local, global) convergence properties and none of the proofs given are restricted to any specific type of method such as, e.g. contraction mapping types. Application of results obtained are illustrated using Newton's method as well as the general concept of Newton-like methods.  相似文献

The essential content of a recent paper by the present writer comprises a comprehensive discussion of the physical bases underlying derivation of formulas for calculating the temperature distribution T, maximum temperature Tm and average temperature Ta in a toroidal electrical coil of rectangular cross section, internally generated heat and change of wire resistance with temperature being taken into account. Illustratively, the solution for the boundary value condition of constant surface temperature and uniform equivalent thermal conductivity was obtained.For the most part, however, problems that arise in practice are not encompassed in the comparatively simple boundary conditions of constant temperature. Experiment shows that in general the boundary condition is T ? T′ = ? K??n; whereof n denotes the outward drawn normal to the coil surface, K = (knh) the ratio of the equivalent thermal conductivity in the direction of n to the emissivity of the boundary surface, and T and T′ are the corresponding temperatures in the coil surface and the immediately adjacent ambient medium. Again, it frequently ensues in practice that the thermal conductivity is substantially different in the directions of the two principal axes of the cross section.In the present paper formulas for T, Tm, and Ta are obtained for electrical coils of ratio of external to internal radius greater than (roughly) two whereof (i) the thermal conductivity is different in the directions of the two principal axes of the cross section, (ii) K is different on but constant over each of the four faces of the coil, and (iii) no restriction is made as to T′ except that over each face it be expressible in a generalized Fourier series. Determination of T is posed as a boundary-value problem in the mathematical theory of heat; the formal solution of T effected by expansions in orthogonal functions; and Tm and Ta then determined through use of their known relationships with T. The resulting formulas are in the form of rapidly-converging singly-infinite trigonometric-hyperbolic series. Illustrative of application of these general formulas, the maximum temperatures in a coil of given dimensions subject to two different sets of surface conditions are calculated and found to be in excellent agreement with the known measured values.The just-mentioned formulas encompass practically all cases encountered in practice except those coils which do not satisfy the restriction as to ratio of radii. For these latter formulas for T, Tm, and Ta are obtained pursuant to conditions of (i) equivalent thermal conductivity different in the directions of the two principal axes of the cross section, (ii) K, and likewise T′, different on but constant over each of the four faces of the coil. These formulas are in the form of rapidly-converging singly-infinite trigonometric- Bessel function (of zero order) series: Illustratively, the maximum temperature in a coil of given dimensions is calculated and found to be in excellent agreement with the known measured value.  相似文献

We demonstrated a simple method for the device design of a staggered herringbone micromixer (SHM) using numerical simulation. By correlating the simulated concentrations with channel length, we obtained a series of concentration versus channel length profiles, and used mixing completion length Lm as the only parameter to evaluate the performance of device structure on mixing. Fluorescence quenching experiments were subsequently conducted to verify the optimized SHM structure for a specific application. Good agreement was found between the optimization and the experimental data. Since Lm is straightforward, easily defined and calculated parameter for characterization of mixing performance, this method for designing micromixers is simple and effective for practical applications.  相似文献

Techniques developed in the Sturm—Liouville problem and its Inverse problem are well known in solving the analysis and synthesis problems of non-uniform distributed networks (or NUDN) (1)-(6), (15). However, very few practical results have been obtained from the theory, especially as regards the synthesis part of the problem. In this paper, we show that the chain matrix of an inhomogeneous ladder network (or IHLN) of N sections has undergone exactly the limit process of first-order difference equation approximation of the corresponding differential equation converges to the chain matrix of the corresponding NUDN uniformly on every compact subset of p = z(s)y(s) plane. Therefore an optimal NUDN is proven to be either symmetrical or antimetrical (7). Specifically, a class of optimal NUDN which is optimal on every subinterval of [O,L] has closed-form solutions, and is proven to be both symmetrical and antimetrical.  相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions for the realization of lossless, lowpass, ladder networks terminated by a resistance are presented, in terms of the poles and zeros of the reflection coefficient. These conditions yield explicit expressions for the element values. They are then extended to highpass networks. These results are next used in solving a bandpass matching problem and the limitations on the performance of matching networks due to constraints imposed by the load are discussed. This paper discusses a multivariable array whose elements are multivariable homogeneous polynomials which may have missing terms in any of the variables. This array permits one to obtain conditions for the realizability of a driving-point function or a transfer function as a resistively terminated low-pass ladder network. Magnetic loss in remanent state ferrites1 has generally been described through the artifice of a magnetic loss tangent (tanδm = μ?μ′). This characterization is not directly relatable to intrinsic material parameters. The results presented in this paper indicate that magnetic loss in the remanent state can be related to intrinsic material parameters by describing the ferrite mathematically by a complex “average” permeability tensor. The “average” permeability includes the effects of magnetocrystalline anistropy, remanent magnetization, linewidth and an average demagnetizing field appropriate to the distribution of magnetic domains. Experimental examples are given showing that excellent agreement is obtained between theoretically predicted and measured losses.  相似文献

BackgroundMethanol can be effectively removed from air by biofiltration. However, formaldehyde is one of the first metabolic intermediates in the consumption of methanol in methylotrophic microorganisms, and it can be released out of the cell constituting a secondary emission.ResultsThe total removal of methanol was achieved up to input loads of 263 g m−3 h−1 and the maximum elimination capacity of the system was obtained at an empty bed residence times of 90 s and reached 330 g m−3 h−1 at an input methanol load of 414 g m−3 h−1 and 80% of removal efficiency. Formaldehyde was detected inside the biofilter when the input methanol load was above 212 g m−3 h−1. Biomass in the filter bed was able to degrade the formaldehyde generated, but with the increase of the methanol input load, the unconsumed formaldehyde was released outside the biofilter. The maximum concentration registered at the output of the system was 3.98 g m−3 when the methanol load was 672 g m−3 h−1 in an empty bed residence times of 60 s.ConclusionsFormaldehyde is produced inside a biofilter when methanol is treated in a biofiltration system inoculated with Pichia pastoris. Biomass present in the reactor is capable of degrading the formaldehyde generated as the concentration of methanol decreases. The paper is concerned with the modeling and stabilization problem of networked control systems under simultaneous consideration of bounded packet dropouts and occasionally missing control inputs. In particular, the focus of the paper is to capture the case where the packet dropouts and control inputs missing are subject to multiple sampling periods, and not periodic as in existing results. By input-delay approach and then fully considering the probability distribution characteristic of packet dropouts in the modeling, the original linear system is firstly transformed to a switched stochastic time-delay system. Meanwhile, the probability distribution values of stochastic delay taking values in m(m ≥ 2) given intervals can be explicitly obtained, which is of vital importance to analyse the stabilization problem of considered system. Secondly, by means of the average dwell time technique, some sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities for the existence of desired stabilizing controller are derived. Finally, an illustrative example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed stabilizing controller and some less conservative results are obtained.  相似文献
