以英语专业二年级学生为调查对象,分析了他们在英语写作中写前计划阶段的自主性策略运用情况。研究结果表明,英语专业二年级学生在写作计划阶段能够自主运用一些写作元认知策略和写作认知策略,表现出了一定程度的自主性,但不同水平的写作者的策略运用情况存在显著差异：写作成绩好的写作者较多运用相关自主性策略,而且写作策略的运用又进一步促进了写作的顺利完成。科学合理的写作策略培训可以提高学习者的自主性,从而促进他们的写作学习。 相似文献

The claim that writing facilitates students’ learning, although widely accepted, has little support from empirical research.
A possible explanation for the lack of empirical evidence is that writing-to-learn research has disregarded that students
use different writing strategies. The purpose of the present experimental study is to test whether it is effective to adapt
writing-to-learn tasks to different writing strategies when teaching literature. A course “Learning to write argumentative
texts about literature” was developed in two different versions: one adapted to a planning writing strategy, the other to
a revising writing strategy. Participants were 113 tenth-grade high school students in the Netherlands. Our hypothesis is
an adaptation hypothesis: we expect that the more a student will use a planning writing strategy, the more the student will
profit from the lessons in the planning condition, and that the more a student uses a revising writing strategy, the more
beneficial the revising condition will be. However, results show that for improving literary interpretation skill, a course
adapted to the planning writing strategy is more effective for almost all students. 相似文献

Recent literature on the use of exemplars in the context of higher education has shown that exemplar-based instruction is implemented in various disciplines; nevertheless, how exemplar-based instruction can be implemented in English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) writing classrooms in higher education institutions remains under-explored. In this connection, this article reports on a textbook development project which adopts an exemplar-based instruction approach to be used by university English instructors to prepare students for IELTS writing (academic module). The goal of the textbook is to cultivate students’ understanding of the assessment standards of the two IELTS writing tasks through the design and use of exemplar-based dialogic and reflective activities. In this article, theoretical underpinnings of the use of exemplars, namely tacit knowledge, assessment as learning and dialogic feedback, will first be discussed in detail. Then, an overview of an ongoing project which aims to develop an exemplar-based IELTS writing textbook will be given. The last section of this article suggests practical strategies for ESL writing teachers who are interested in using exemplars to develop students’ understanding of assessment standards. 相似文献

By the upper elementary grades, writing becomes an essential tool both for learning and for showing what you know. Students who struggle significantly with writing are at a terrible disadvantage. Data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress indicate that only 25% of students can be classified as competent writers; students with learning disabilities (LD) have even greater problems with writing than their normally achieving peers and frequently demonstrate a deteriorating attitude toward writing after the primary grades. In this article, we focus on composing and the writing process, and examine the knowledge base about writing development and instruction among students with LD. We address what research tells us about skilled writers and the development of writing knowledge, strategies, skill, and the will to write, and how this relates to students with LD. Next, we summarize what has been learned from research on writing development, effective instruction, and the writing abilities of students with LD in terms of effective instruction for these students. Motivational regulation has long been recognized as an essential but insufficiently investigated aspect of self-regulated learning (SRL), especially in relation to learning English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) writing. This study intends to fill the gap by investigating the predictive effect of motivational regulation strategies on EFL students’ writing performance mediated by SRL strategies. Data were collected from undergraduate students in mainland China (N = 512) through self-report questionnaires and an English writing test. Results of structural equation modeling (SEM) confirmed a partial mediation model in which motivational regulation strategies, as a whole, not only had direct and indirect effects on students’ writing performance but were also significantly correlated with their reported use of SRL strategies relating to cognition, metacognition, and social behavior. In addition, only cognitive and metacognitive strategies were found to be significant mediators in the model while social behavior strategies were not. The findings suggest that cumulative knowledge of motivational regulation is an antecedent of the reported use of other SRL strategies in affecting EFL writing performance. The inclusion of SRL strategies in the mediation model also contributes to a clear understanding of L2 writing processes within the SRL mechanism for improving writing outcomes. 相似文献

为提高本科院校英语专业教师的写作教学质量和英语专业学生的写作水平,本研究以本科院校英语专业学生写作策略的运用与写作成绩的相关性为调研问题,以105名铜仁学院2年级英语专业本科生为调查对象,以学期成绩考试卷和写作策略问卷调查量表收集的相关数据为依据,结果显示：（1）学生运用写前策略的频率最高（平均值=3．88,标准差=0．164）;（2）性别差异影响了写作策略的运用,其差异性主要体现在写作策略的认知和社会情感上;（3）写作策略的运用与写作成绩呈正相关。 相似文献

This study investigated the presence and growth of kindergarten children's metacognition as they engaged in the writing process. The study was conducted in an environment that surrounded children with books, language, and print. Twice a month the teacher/researcher interviewed the children as they finished writing, asking questions designed to help them reflect on their thinking and strategies they used in their writing. Anecdotal records, observations, and individual writing folders were used to complete a checklist of writing strategies for each child. Interviews with the children confirmed that they were exhibiting and showing growth in their metacognition. They were able to provide appropriate answers to questions that required them to talk about their thinking and identify strategies that helped them in their writing. The study provides a model that could be used in classrooms to help children in the development of their growing metacognition and writing in an authentic learning environment. 相似文献
