Ancient China was an agricultural society where all capable emperors paid much attention to farming and ,weaving activities, Artistic creations depicting farming and weaving scenes can date back to the Neolithic Age. A bronze bottle from the Warring States period (475 BC - 221 BC) features hunting and planting scenes. Bronze wares of the pre-Qin period, painted relief bricks of the Han Dynasty, tomb murals of the Wei-and-Jin period and grotto paintings of the Tang and Song dynasties, all recorded farming, planting and weaving scenes of the agricultural society of ancient China. In the Southern Song Dynasty, in particular, thanks to its highly developed agriculture, a painter named Lou Shu created a piece of ink painting, entitled "Farming and Weaving Painting", reviewing agricultural skills and approaches of previous dynasties.  相似文献

County has played an important role in the history of China since it was first established as a basic administrative unit in 00the Qin Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago. Historic counties have not only performed administrative and economic functions but also carried and preserved basic information about culture and traditions of China. Not long ago, the Photographic Exhibition on the Cultural Heritage of Historic Counties of China, organized by China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation in partnership with the Palace Museum and China Institute of Toponymy, was held at the Forbidden City, displaying photographs on the cultures and traditions of the first 16 Historic Counties of China, with an objective to enhance the public’s awareness of the conservation of cultural heritage in these historic counties.Our magazine will cover each of these chosen historic counties in each issue.  相似文献

In November 11, 2003, the renowned Chinese writer Zhou Erfu, at age 83 and in the advanced stage of cancer, strenuously wrote a letter to his Japanese friend Yi Kenichiro, inquiring about the translation and publication of the Japanese edition of his novel "The Panorama of the Great Wall" which reflects the whole period of the Chinese people's anti-Japanese war from 1937 to 1945. Yi Kenichiro, with a medium-sized figure, gentlemen-like appearance and unswerving disposition, is a Japanese professor expert in Chinese literature and language. He was then busy with his teaching work and the translation of the Japanese version of Zhou's novel. Receiving Zhou's letter, he fell into a sad mood and hoped Zhou could be recovered soon and live up to the day when the whole novel was published in Japan.  相似文献

Late September 2006, at the invitation of the Cultural Ministry of Belarus, a four-person delegation from northeast China's Heilongjiang Province visited Minsk, capital city of Belarus, to present China Ice and Snow Painting Exhibition at Belarus National Museum of History and Culture as part of China Culture Day co- sponsored by the cultural ministries of the two countries. The exhibition displayed 54 painting masterpieces by Yu Zhixue, founder of ice and snow painting, and his students. All the maior media organizations in Belarus reported the exhibition and Belarus Culture Daily gave an exclusive interview of Yu Zhixue. The Deputy Cultural Minister of Belarus was so impressed by the painting styles of Yu that he shook Yu's hands excitingly and highly praised Yu's works. Paper-cut, known as the most common folk art in China, can date back to the Shang and Zhoudynasties when Chinese ancestors engraved flower patterns on gold and silver spangles and cut leathers as decorations. The extant earliest unearthed paper-cut works were made during the Southern and Northern dynasties (420 - 589 AD).
