跨国公司如何在新兴市场进行战略选择已经成为近年来从事跨国公司理论和战略研究的学者们关注的焦点问题之一.对跨国公司的动态能力、跨国公司对新兴市场的认知和战略选择以及三者之间的关系进行了分析.在此基础上,提出一个跨国公司的动态能力和对新兴市场的认知、战略选择以及与业绩的关系模型框架.之后以美国电报电话公司(AT&T)和韩国三星公司(Samsung)为例进行分析.研究表明,跨国公司动态能力影响了公司对新兴市场的认知,又决定了公司的产品定位战略、市场战略、进入战略和价格战略,最终决定了跨国公司在新兴市场中的缋效.  相似文献

不同于以往首先在发达国家创新后再向发展中国家传递的传统模式,反向创新特指专门为新兴市场开发的创新产品和服务在引入发达市场后也能获得采纳的创新形式与扩散路径,反映出新兴市场地位变迁、全球研发资源分布与创新成果跨国界流动的新趋势。本文在梳理创新全球化进程基础上,对反向创新与其他新兴市场创新的专有概念进行了辨析,描述了反向创新的主要实现路径,初步构建出该领域的研究框架,最后指出未来研究方向。  相似文献

基于主板市场、中小板和创业板市场上战略性新兴产业上市公司2011—2013年间的面板数据,对企业RD投资的融资约束与融资渠道依赖特征进行了实证研究。研究发现,企业的RD投资对现金流存在依赖性和融资约束效应,但是新兴市场板块(中小板和创业板)的融资约束与主板市场差异并不显著;企业的研发投资存在内源融资依赖性,内源资金是RD投资的主要资金来源,而且新兴市场板块企业RD投资的内源融资依赖性弱于主板市场。  相似文献

This case study illustrates the issues that arise when a separate “maverick” business unit focusing on developing a new and disruptive innovation is spun off from the parent company. Companies in the high technology manufacturing and development sector have to continually innovate in order to survive and grow in increasingly turbulent and competitive markets. It is common practice for the parent company to spin off separate business units that can incubate and capitalise on the development of new technological innovations in order to grow and create new markets. The case analysis underlines the problems that arise when ICT systems and operational processes are not strategically aligned and imposed by the parent company. It also demonstrates how innovative business units can harness their unique talents and apply them to solving operational problems. By developing a new bespoke system aligned with the maverick unit’s emergent processes, the maverick business unit was pulled back from the brink of disaster to a successful and profitable business unit.  相似文献

Breakthrough innovations significantly depart from common practices and can potentially reshape existing markets, create new markets, and prompt the emergence of new technological trajectories. The crucial role that breakthrough innovations play in technological progress has stimulated a lively line of research investigating methods to identify them in actual empirical contexts. Despite this ongoing effort, the availability of data on breakthrough innovations is still scarce and seems to have prevented, at least so far, an integrated perspective comprising both their technical and economic significance. We address this limitation by developing a method that uses award-winning innovations which have been successfully commercialized to find breakthrough patents on a large scale. For the period 1976–2013, in a sample of 138,467 USPTO patents, we identify 17,176 breakthrough innovations. Relevant robustness checks support the validity of our classification. We then exploit this sample to assess the sources of breakthrough innovations.  相似文献

The potential of public Internet-based B2B (business-to-business) e-commerce applications to facilitate access to global markets and to reduce market entry barriers is a dominant theme in the burgeoning literature on e-commerce and international development. It is often assumed that these applications will enable producer firms in developing countries to benefit from reductions in the transaction costs they must incur to participate in international trade. Drawing on data from a detailed analysis of 117 B2B e-hubs in the garments/apparel and agriculture/horticulture sectors, it is argued in this article that the kinds of transaction-related support services available at these online trading platforms are more limited in their scope and functionality than is often assumed in the literature on B2B e-commerce development. The findings suggest that the mere application of, and access to, technologies such as the public Internet and the World Wide Web is not likely to enable a reduction in overall transaction costs that is sufficient to facilitate entry into new global markets by developing country producer firms.  相似文献

对自2004年"国九条"颁布以来SHFE铝期货市场的长期限合约的套期保值比率与绩效进行研究,给出了一个寻求长期限合约的最优套期保值比率的新方法。为克服数据量较小的困难,运用新技术——协整序列分解模型进行研究,采用更一般的数据选取方法,发现不同的铝期、现货价格序列(二周、三周)均存在显著的协整关系;在此基础上得到任意期限的最优套期保值比率,所得结果与现有研究有明显不同:对于较长的套期保值期限,利用不同的时间单位进行套期保值,最优套期保值比率存在明显差异,但相差不大;利用较长时间单位的数据,得到的最优套期保值比率越大,对应的套期保值绩效也越好。  相似文献

This study contributes to the debate on the role of openness to international markets for the diffusion of compliance with international standards in developing countries. Relying upon aggregated data for 1995-2005, as well as upon firm-level and secondary data from the Chilean salmon farming industry, the determinants of ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 diffusion at country, industry, and firm level, in Latin American are analysed. Our evidence suggests that openness to international markets acts at different levels. At both the country and industry level, it creates awareness and access to new knowledge therefore providing economic incentives or penalisations for evaluating certification. This effect competes and complements the deliberated efforts and policies in explaining diffusion of certification. At firm level, however, openness to international markets alone does not provide sufficient opportunities to acquire the knowledge required to comply with these standards. In this case, standards’ compliance depends on firm's capability to use relational and search assets, as well as on national and industrial efforts and policies to spread standards’ usage.  相似文献

Artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled products are expected to drive economic growth. Training data are important for firms developing AI-enabled products; without training data, firms cannot develop or refine their algorithms. This is particularly the case for AI startups developing new algorithms and products. However, there is no consensus in the literature on which aspects of training data are most important. Using unique survey data of AI startups, we find a positive correlation between having proprietary training data and obtaining future venture capital funding. Moreover, this correlation is greater for startups in markets where data is a major advantage and for startups using more sophisticated algorithms, such as neural networks and ensemble learning.  相似文献
