中文译为“城邦”的“波里斯”(πολιs,Polis,City-state,)一词有“城市”、“国家”、“公民集体”三个含义。作为早期国家的一种形态,古代城邦是以一个城市为中心公民为主体、结合周围农村地区而形成的小国寡民的社会共同体。“公民集体”(acitizencommunity)的形成和发展是城邦的本质所在①。波里斯(polis)用以指城邦时,虽然含有城市国家之意,但是并非所有的城邦都是城市国家。有城市的城邦既是城邦,也是城市国家。无城市的城邦则不是城市国家。城邦绝不等同于城市国家。城市国家只是城邦的一种形态,城市是其空间中心和活动中心②。… 相似文献
