随着随书光盘数量日益增多,科学管理和有效利用这部分文献信息资源已成为目前高校图书馆所面临的一个重要问题。但由于目前国家还未出台有关随书光盘管理的相关标准和细则,因此各图书馆对随书光盘的管理也在不断摸索中。本文在分析了当前图书馆界对随书光盘管理和利用现状的基础上,提出和探讨了高校图书馆随书光盘的网络化管理模式,以期促进随书光盘管理工作的规范化。 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to identify pay disparities within gender and race using private and public Association of Research Libraries (ARL) libraries as a lens. In this study, 44 ARL libraries participated, leading to 1099 usable responses to our survey. The findings indicate that race and gender pay disparities are larger at private libraries than at public libraries. However, disparity levels at both public and private ARL libraries are smaller than the national averages for all professions and continue to shrink. 相似文献

There is ongoing discussion about the value and reliability of information produced by experts and organized by digital libraries in universities versus information produced by the crowd in virtual communities. This study compares users' perceptions of digital libraries and virtual communities in terms of affinity. In this study, affinity with digital libraries or virtual communities is defined as the degree of importance that users place on digital libraries or virtual communities. Data collected from 334 users of digital libraries and virtual communities were used for data analysis. The statistical method of 'compare means' is employed. We find the mean of affinity with digital libraries is significantly larger than that of virtual communities, suggesting users are likely to perceive higher levels of affinity with digital libraries than with virtual communities. More analysis oriented to different groups is also conducted. The findings and their implications are discussed. 相似文献

Abstract To determine if research findings from large academic, research libraries on the number of public access terminals needed apply to smaller libraries, the author compared results of a study done at a large research institution to one done at a mid-sized university. The data were different. This is important because the active automation market is currently thriving at smaller libraries, not larger ones, and because environment/size does seem to be critical to the consideration of automation parameters. Abstract As the world of scholarly information is disseminated through an increasingly networked environment, it is imperative that libraries, and librarians, understand that incremental changes to current organizational and management paradigms will not suffice.
