This article argues that a mutual shaping lens enables a more encompassing account of the joint processes of technological and social change in new media than the diffusion of innovations and social shaping of technology perspectives. Drawing from recent work in sociology and history of technology, organization studies, social informatics, and computer-supported cooperative work, this article suggests that the shaping and diffusion of media artifacts are so intimately tied that they should be seen as the two sides of the same innovation coin. Using examples from the history of videotex newspapers in the United States, the analysis shows that actors simultaneously pursued interdependent technological and social transformations, that this was an ongoing process in which partial outcomes in the technological domain influenced social events at a later phase—and vice versa—and that such process was influenced by historical developments.  相似文献

 通过对区域创新网络创新机制的理论回顾和分析,沿着科学创新、技术创新、产品创新和价值创新这一创新范式内容的变迁轨迹,将区域创新范式归纳为自选择、技术选择、产业选择和社会选择四种模式,并以此为理论工具对欧洲“知识创新社区”的社会形塑过程进行解读。认为欧洲知识创新社区的建立能否促成其区域创新范式的变革将需要一个缓慢的过程来检验,变革强度理念的分歧会较长时间存在,使得新的创新范式在形成过程中难免遭遇障碍。同时,这样的问题也引出对我国创新型国家、创新型城市和创新型城区建设的关注,并得出启示。  相似文献

随着我国数字经济不断发展,新型消费持续推进,企业不断采用数字技术提升自身能力以塑造市场,如何利用技术与模式创新完成新市场构建成为企业未来发展关键,但以往有关市场研究对数字化情境下市场塑造能力的构成、影响市场形成过程的机制等缺乏深入探讨。本文通过对纯米科技的单案例研究,运用扎根理论方法归纳出了数字技术、市场塑造能力和新市场构建的构念维度和主要特征,建立起数字技术驱动市场塑造能力进而构建新消费市场的理论框架。研究发现,案例企业运用数字技术,以“发现—触发—调动”的流程来展开五种市场塑造能力:发现价值潜力、设计新交易、配置新网络、形成新制度和调动资源,并以提高市场价值创造的方式将各利益相关方的资源联系起来,从而推动了新消费市场的构建。研究结论为企业树立新型市场观、打造和提升市场塑造能力提供了实践启示。  相似文献

Noting that interactivity is often defined but seldom theorized in the literature, this article provides some pointers for developing theories about effects of interactivity, particularly as it applies to Web-based mass communication. It first makes the case that interactivity is an attribute of the technology and not that of the user. It exposes the tautology of studying the effects of perceived interactivity and calls for the consideration of ontological aspects that constitute interactivity while specifying its social and psychological effects. Theoretical explorations may be categorized in terms of three classes of outcome measures—behavioral, attitudinal, and cognitive—as we investigate the role played by interactivity in initiating action, changing attitudes, and altering the nature of information processing. These would result in theories about technology rather than psychology in that they help us specify direct and combination effects of interactivity, modality, navigability, and other technological attributes of the Web medium.  相似文献

Achieving the anticipated business benefits of a social medium is important as organizations diligently invest in different social media platforms. While much previous research assumes that social media helps organizations to communicate with customers, less is known about whether customers embrace using social media to interact with organizations. It is important to understand the role of social media for business communication from the customers’ perspective, as this may significantly deviate from the organizations’ own communicative intentions. In this exploratory case study of the Moon Struck hotel in China, we investigate both how customers interpret the hotel’s use of WeChat official account for business communication and how customers respond to messages received from Moon Struck’s WeChat account. Adopting a symbolic interactionism perspective, we surprisingly find that WeChat personal accounts and Moon Struck’s official account offer radically different meanings to followers. Specifically, WeChat personal account symbolizes a sociality-oriented meaning (e.g., relationship and image building), while Moon Struck’s WeChat official account symbolizes information broadcasting-related meaning (e.g., selling, advertising, and branding). Both technological features and the distance of relationships among users contribute to the constructed symbolic meaning of technology, subsequently affecting users’ WeChat use patterns. The theoretical implications of this study are discussed and recommendations are made for future research and practice.  相似文献

Abstract

Individuals who have ready access to three new communication media— email, vmail, and fax—may elect to use only one medium, or two or more in combination. Users make choices based on evaluations of the utility of each medium for their communication tasks (a function of the types of work they perform). Individuals may assess technological characteristics to evaluate the technological utility of each medium. However, since communication media require multiple users, individuals also may be expected to assess characteristics of the user community to evaluate the social utility of each medium. Social utility may be influenced by people's perceptions of the existence of a critical mass of media users, and by the social influence of their peers and superiors. This study finds that perceptions of the technological and social utility of email, vmail, and fax are relatively independent of the types of work people perform. Social utility explains media usage somewhat better than technological utility, except in the case of email. Thus, the concept of social utility should be given more attention in future investigations of media choice.  相似文献

后发地区可以凭借后发优势实现技术赶超,但是技术赶超的关键是要有一定的技术能力,即在现有技术差距下,后发地区只有拥有一定的学习能力和吸收能力才能实现技术赶超。本文基于拓展的Verspagen技术赶超模型分析技术差距、技术能力与技术赶超之间的关系,得出的结论是:技术差距的缩小和技术赶超的实现都取决于后发地区的学习能力和吸收能力;对后发地区来说,通过学习能力和吸收能力的培育提升自己的技术能力可以实现技术赶超和经济收敛。因此,后发地区需要投入一定的资源,培育特色的区域创新体系和创新能力,为缩小技术差距、实现技术赶超而努力。  相似文献

    如何与产业融合是人工智能技术发展的关键。鉴于“万物皆媒”的未来场景,对智能媒体技术的发展趋势、技术集群演变和国际竞争态势研究对媒体行业及其相关行业的发展,国家核心竞争力的提高都至关重要。本文对2008年至2020年间的专利数据进行检索,鉴别出75 051条德温特专利数据作为分析基础。采取关键词、专利代码及学科领域相结合的方法确定了智能媒体技术涉及的专利范围;结合时间变迁和聚类分析将智能媒体技术的发展分为平稳、迅速、平缓和迅猛发展四个阶段;利用共词分析建立了不同专利代码之间的共现关系,利用社会化网络分析将共现关系可视化,识别出不同阶段的主要技术集群;结合企业专利拥有量及所属国家分析了智能媒体技术的国际竞争态势。基于以上定量分析从媒体业务与智能技术融合视角提出了媒体机构的智能化战略建议,从智能媒体技术研发、行业应用、国际竞争力提升视角提出了智能媒体产业发展政策建议。本文基于专利测度从发展趋势、技术集群演变和国际竞争态势三方面分析了智能媒体技术发展规律,为从专利视角对人工智能技术与产业融合的研究提供了方法体系。  相似文献

Effective teamwork, knowledge coordination, and knowledge creation are recognized as essential sources of team effectiveness and creativity in modern organizations. Nowadays, social media is significantly modifying the patterns in the use of technology to support knowledge management practices in teams. At the same time, the literature shows that transactive memory system (TMS), which refers to how team members share their distributed knowledge and expertise, is an important factor affecting team performance. However, minimal effort has been made to elaborate on the precise role of social media in supporting TMS for enhancing absorptive capacity (ACAP) and knowledge creation capability (KCC) of the team, which in turn might influence team creative performance (TCP). Therefore, to address this gap in the literature, a theoretical model is developed and validated. Survey data collected from 334 members of 68 knowledge work teams indicated that social media use at work has a positive relationship with TMS and both social media use at work and TMS are positively related to ACAP and KCC of the team. Results further indicated that ACAP positively influenced KCC, and both have a direct relationship with TCP. This study shows that careful investment in social media by an organization can enhance meta-knowledge of “who knows what” within teams. Finally, exploring external knowledge alone is not enough. Instead, organizations must ensure external knowledge is utilized to create new knowledge to improve TCP.  相似文献

False news that spreads on social media has proliferated over the past years and has led to multi-aspect threats in the real world. While there are studies of false news on specific domains (like politics or health care), little work is found comparing false news across domains. In this article, we investigate false news across nine domains on Weibo, the largest Twitter-like social media platform in China, from 2009 to 2019. The newly collected data comprise 44,728 posts in the nine domains, published by 40,215 users, and reposted over 3.4 million times. Based on the distributions and spreads of the multi-domain dataset, we observe that false news in domains that are close to daily life like health and medicine generated more posts but diffused less effectively than those in other domains like politics, and that political false news had the most effective capacity for diffusion. The widely diffused false news posts on Weibo were associated strongly with certain types of users — by gender, age, etc. Further, these posts provoked strong emotions in the reposts and diffused further with the active engagement of false-news starters. Our findings have the potential to help design false news detection systems in suspicious news discovery, veracity prediction, and display and explanation. The comparison of the findings on Weibo with those of existing work demonstrates nuanced patterns, suggesting the need for more research on data from diverse platforms, countries, or languages to tackle the global issue of false news. The promotion of media literacy as way of increasing access to the range of services available via today's media and communication technologies is currently an emphasis in Europe's information society policy debates. The notion of media literacy heralds a shift in the communications policy arena, especially with regard to media access as a policy goal. Taking into account the situated origins of the inherited regulatory concepts of access, this article argues that the way in which we operationalize media access must reflect how individuals engage with convergent electronic media services. It proposes a context- and user-sensitive approach, where the situation of media (non)users is assessed in terms of the technological and social infrastructure needed to support their access to particular media services.  相似文献

Instead of merely subscribing to an unspecific inseparability in the co-constitution or mangle of information technologies and human-actors, there is a need for conceptual tools to describe and explicate the mechanics of how the enmeshment of technologies and human-beings is occurring in information contexts: how information technologies are both setting standards of the social conduct of information practices, and how people are using information technologies to regulate the social process. Building on an empirical study of human-technology relations in the context of archaeological information work, this article discusses how the imaginary of putting Stengers to work can make a contribution to such an end. Stengers describes an ideal system of human-actors and technology working seamlessly —World-as-Clock—that is unattainable but can serve as a benchmark and a lens for understanding frictions and discrepancies in the cohesion of the two.  相似文献

开放共享平台是科技资源领域的一项重要技术创新、知识创新和管理创新,其创新扩散受到各种关键因素的影响。以创新扩散理论和TOE理论框架为基础,深入分析技术、组织和环境等各种关键因素对开放共享平台采纳和扩散的影响。通过建立的关键因素模型,研究结果表明:平台基础、复杂性、兼容性、管理体制、保障体系、市场环境和政策法规是影响科技资源开放共享平台进一步扩散的关键因素,而组织因素的人才体系和环境因素的社会环境目前对开放共享平台扩散并没有显著影响。在此基础上提出了有利于科技资源开放共享平台进一步扩散的相关政策与建议。  相似文献

为解决后发国家制造业在国际范围内实现由产业链低端向高端迁移过程中,亟待解决的如何实现技术追赶问题。文章以我国成熟产业的典型企业为样本,采用扎根理论方法对后发国家实现技术追赶的过程进行研究,力图在后发国家的独特情景下,提炼具有潜在社会应有价值的研究结论。基于文章所提出的后发国家成熟产业实现技术追赶的惯性传导路径模型,研究发现:(1)与多数研究结论不同,惯性因素在特定条件下不是企业实现变革的阻碍因素,而是促进企业实现技术追赶的本源性推动因素;(2)在实现技术追赶的不同阶段,主导惯性呈现出不同的特性,并通过不同惯性间的交互作用,驱动技术追赶过程完成;(3)作为惯性贯穿技术追赶全过程。  相似文献

This paper explores the dynamics of the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) innovation in Singapore, tracing its implementation to subsequent diffusion to delineate the links between technology and society. The ERP system, introduced in 1998, is an elaborate and sophisticated toll collecting system using ICTs to regulate road usage. We use the actor–network theory (ANT) as a conceptual tool to analyse the dynamics of this innovation. Through a detailed examination of both human and non‐human actors, we are able to analyse how interests of heterogeneous members of a societal network can be aligned to introduce a technological innovation. In the process, we have observed issues arising from the differential power relationship that exists between road users and government planners as well as the integration of the social and technical aspects of this emerging socio‐technological system. As an emergent technology, the ERP innovation system reflects the social morphology of Singapore as it plays out its part in the making of this nascent nation.  相似文献
