通过多年的教学,笔者从学生的练习中发现学生对since引导的时间状语从句的时态和动词的用法与搭配不够清楚。例如有这样一个句子:题目要求把“自从他病了以来,我常常给他写信”这一句子译成英语,不少同学都译成:“I have often written to him since he was ill.”实际上,这个句子跟原句的汉语意思并不相符,应理解为:“自从他病愈以来,我常常给他写信”。正确的译法是:“I have often written to himsince he has been ill”。据了解,同学们出现这样的差错,主要是他们习惯性地认为since引导的时间状语从句都是一般过去时,而不知道since引导的时间状语从句中也可以用现在完成时,同时也没有注意since从句中的动词区别。我们知道,在since引导的时间状语从句中,通常只用一般过去时的非持续性动词,主句的谓语动词用现在完成时,主句中动词所表示的动作可能是发生在since所表示的“从……到某时”一段时间内,也可能只发生在这段时间的某一点,since从句的动词常常表示某一短暂(或瞬间)动作的完成或结束。例如:She has lived with ... 相似文献
