El Nino是从南美西海岸延伸至赤道东太平洋向西至日界线大范围的海面温度异常增暖现象.Southern Oscillation是太平洋东西两侧海平面气压的反相关关系.El Nino/Southern Oscillation合称为ENSO.信风强弱关系到赤道西太平洋暖池的维持与El Nino的爆发,而人类活动所引起的地球变暖将是今后气候变化总的趋势,气候变暖将使全球海面上升,地球的自转半径增加,从角动量守恒的角度考虑,地球自转的速度将减慢,赤道两侧的信风相对于海面的速度也相应减小,维持赤道西太平洋暖池及海面东低西高形势的支柱被破坏.因此,我们将面临更频繁的El Nino和更多的极端天气.  相似文献

In this article, I discuss the links between the variation of the monsoon and the variation of convection over the Indian and Pacific Oceans, on subseasonal scales of a few days and on an interannual scale. The relationship of the variation of the convection over the oceans to the sea surface temperature is elucidated and the implications for the Pacific and Indian Oceans considered. The role played by the El Nino and Southern Oscillation over the Pacific and the Equatorial Indian Ocean Oscillation in determining the year-to-year variation of the monsoon is discussed.  相似文献

平潭是福建省最大岛屿,处于东亚季风区,是东、西风带交替影响的过度区,其气候季节性特征明显.通过对平潭本站建站初期到2010年的气候资料进行统计分析,结果显示:平潭年平均风速为5.0 m/s,大风日主要集中出现在冬半年,而受热带气旋的影响,大风极值多出现在夏季;平潭主导风向轴明显,夏季盛行西南风,冬季盛行东北风.  相似文献

本文采用跟随热带气旋移动的极坐标对华南沿海台站在热带气旋影响下的风力作合成分析.以此为基础提出预报方法。用1988年的影响华南的8个热带气旋作风力预报检验,共419站次24h风力预报的绝对平均误差为2.04m/s。  相似文献

This article explores the issue of language policy analysis for elementary school teachers in the Oceania region, that is Polynesian nations in the southern and eastern, Melanesian nations in the western and Micronesian nations in the northern parts of the Pacific Ocean region. It is grounded in an understanding that education policy work of any kind is contested and political but nevertheless an exercise that elementary school teachers need to engage in. The ideas examined in the article are timely given recent ‘re-thinking’ language policy work across the region initiated in early 2005 by the Institute of Education at the University of the South Pacific and the Pacific Regional Initiatives for the Delivery of [basic] Education (PRIDE), in Fiji. This article draws on a template for education policy analysis that enables teachers in particular to ask critical key questions around language policy context, text and consequences (Taylor et al., 1997). These questions offer teachers a language for examining language and language policy issues that concern them in their everyday work and thus a possible way of accessing and contributing to debates from which they are often excluded.  相似文献

School-age children are frequently exposed to issues related to global warming/global climatic change. Yet, their conceptions regarding the scope and nature of this phenomenon are often incomplete or even inconstant with predominant scientific understandings. The complex conceptual knowledge required to understand issues related to global warming create learning situations that harbor the development of incomplete or inaccurate ideas related to global warming. ABSTRACT

Academic labour markets around the world are increasingly globalised and tied to transnational circuits of neoliberal capital. Universities in New Zealand are closely aligned with these trends and an academic labour force has developed over time that reflects these economic flows and currents. This labour force is characterised by an exceptionally high number of multinational academic staff, many of whom contribute to research and inquiry aimed at maintaining and broadening the influence of their institutions abroad. Pacific faculty, however, experience the micro-geographies of New Zealand universities in different ways from other migrant scholars, especially those who hail from the global North. They are rarely included in academic ‘prestige economies’ or elite scholarly networks and are often isolated in their academic departments. This paper draws on a study about the experiences of senior Pacific academics in Aotearoa New Zealand and explores how they formulate pan-Pacific solidarities within the neoliberal and settler-colonial milieu of higher education. We focus on the often fraught dynamics of encounters between Pacific scholars, white academic elites and indigenous Māori colleagues as they map academic identities on to institutional space.  相似文献
