文检课网络教学不仅可提高教学效率,而且将改变以教师为中心的教学模式。流媒体技术的应用为文检课网络教学课件提供了丰富的表现力,已成为文检课网络教学资源不可或缺的内容,是现代文献检索课教育的重要组成部分。本文通过介绍流媒体技术、多媒体课件的制作、文检课网络教学系统的组成、文检课网络教学的特点以及流媒体应用于网络教学所存在的问题等,结合我们的教学实践对文检课网络教学的发展前景作了较深入的探讨。  相似文献

我兼职担任文献检索与利用课(以下简称“文检课)教学工作,始于1990年,当初只是接受工程力学系的安排;为工程力学系专业设文检课。我院将文检课列入教学计划,规定为学生必修课。课程是按国家教委文件规定在三、四年级讲授文检课的知识,由于我院至今尚无文检课教师编制,几年来,安排我承担该课教学任务。除了要做好资料室工作外,又兼职担任该教学工作。鉴于精力有限,每年只承接一至两个班的工作量。课程教学时数按规定32课时进行,教学内容包括基础和应用两部分,授课与实习的比例为1:1。课程结束后,组织专场考试,要求学生在规定…  相似文献

A team of academics from RMIT School of Business Information Technology were involved in delivering LIS training to staff at Can Tho University in Viet Nam who were to work in a newly developed Learning Resource Centre (LRC). The training materials were written in English and then translated into Vietnamese. RMIT staff then delivered the training face-to-face through interpreters. This paper records a narrative of the interaction between academics, students, translators, and interpreters. This narrative examines development, limitations, and successes of cross-cultural teaching and learning and offers a commentary from the point of view of academic participants in this project, particularly about the developing relationships between academics, translators, and interpreters. Examination of the impact includes some preliminary evaluation of the nature of the teaching experience and the development of culturally inclusive strategies and material.  相似文献

Eight years' data have been collected in the operation of learning resource centers (LRCs) for medical and dental students at the Medical College of Virginia Campus, Virginia Commonwealth University. Data present evidence of high utilization of facilities and materials, including the successful use of small group cluster carrels. Management concepts and strategies to account for the data are identified and the LRC profile discussed for an understanding of how the strategies are implemented. These management concepts--responsiveness to students, interaction with faculty, and delivery of coordinated service--are transferable to other institutions and serve as guidlines for efficient management of LRC space, staff, equipment, and acquisition in support of medical and dental school curricula.  相似文献

Summary

Seventy-five per cent of young people in Britain own a cell phone. In a survey of sixth form college (small college) Learning Resource Centres (LRCs), cell phone usage occurred regularly and was occasionally a serious problem. LRC Managers need to decide whether to ban cell phone usage or not. Disruptive behaviour in libraries is defined as any behaviour that disturbs other users. Using this criterion, cell phone use should be banned in the LRC. Policies on cell phone use need to be clearly displayed and enforced tactfully and consistently. Federal Regulations published in 1988 require colleges to demonstrate the difference they have made to students. The accrediting agencies such as the Middle States Association have combined frameworks for outcomes assessment with the long established requirement that college students demonstrate the ability to retrieve and use information. Hudson Valley Community College librarians work with the faculty in a liaison program to shape the collections, library use and student success. As faculty the librarians serve on college committees; at the state level the library subscribes to the SUNYLA student library competencies statement. All this is drawn on as librarians collaborate with faculty on college and departmental accreditation self study and visits. As the focus shifts from accreditation to assessment, librarians undertaking self-study must decide who will use the information and what library roles must be justified, Illustrations include an accreditation visit checklist, the Curriculum Committee LRC fact sheet and the SUNYLA Recommended Library Skills and Competencies for Graduates of Community Colleges.  相似文献

Providing integrated access to research resources thatsupport teaching and learning in the humanities andsocial sciences has been a goal of the ResearchLibraries Group since its inception in 1975. Theadvent of the World Wide Web and the tools that arenow available to librarians, archivists and museuminformation specialists for enhancing access toresearch resources electronically are making the goalattainable.Research in the humanities has become increasinglyinternational and interdisciplinary as resourcesbecome more readily available. Being able to provideaccess to primary and secondary research materialsregardless of format and location is already beingachieved. Building the kind of critical mass ofmaterials that will adequately support the kind ofin-depth research for teaching and scholarly use isthe next step in making that seamless web of resourcesso needed and wanted by researchers.This article describes the advantages of building theseamless web of access – the promise of doing thisand the value of collaborative efforts to reach theshared vision.
