In this quasiexperimental study, the authors investigated the effects of university within school partnership model, within which faculty members acted as teacher-researchers to improve fractional knowledge among middle school (Grades 5–8) students. Students in nine Grade 6 mathematics classes from two public middle schools in Turkey were assigned to two conditions: University within school model instruction and traditional instruction. Pre- and posttest data showed that the students exposed to instruction through the university within school partnership model significantly outperformed their traditional instruction peers on the fractions test. Results indicated that students made significant gains in fractional knowledge in the experimental classrooms and in different subgroup populations. It was suggested that a substantial amount of mathematical infusion through partnership could have a positive impact on middle school students' fractional knowledge. The educational implications of the study were also discussed.  相似文献

Most model fit analyses in cognitive diagnosis assume that a Q matrix is correct after it has been constructed, without verifying its appropriateness. Consequently, any model misfit attributable to the Q matrix cannot be addressed and remedied. To address this concern, this paper proposes an empirically based method of validating a Q matrix used in conjunction with the DINA model. The proposed method can be implemented with other considerations such as substantive information about the items, or expert knowledge about the domain, to produce a more integrative framework of Q‐matrix validation. The paper presents the theoretical foundation for the proposed method, develops an algorithm for its practical implementation, and provides real and simulated data applications to examine its viability. Relevant issues regarding the implementation of the method are discussed.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to compare the validity and output of the biaxial ActiGraph GT1M and the triaxial GT3X (ActiGraph, LLC, Pensacola, FL, USA) accelerometer in 5- to 9-year-old children. Thirty-two children wore the two monitors while their energy expenditure was measured with indirect calorimetry. They performed four locomotor and four play activities in an exercise laboratory and were further measured during 12 minutes of a sports lesson. Validity evidence in relation to indirect calorimetry was examined with linear regression equations applied to the laboratory data. During the sports lessons predicted energy expenditure according to the regression equations was compared to measured energy expenditure with the Wilcoxon-signed rank test and the Spearman correlation. To compare the output, agreement between counts of the two monitors during the laboratory activities was assessed with Bland-Altman plots. The evidence of validity was similar for both monitors. Agreement between the output of the two monitors was good for vertical counts (mean bias =??14 ± 22 counts) but not for horizontal counts (?17 ± 32 counts). The current results indicate that the two accelerometer models are able to estimate energy expenditure of a range of physical activities equally well in young children. However, they show output differences for movement in the horizontal direction.  相似文献

Cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs), as alternative approaches to unidimensional item response models, have received increasing attention in recent years. CDMs are developed for the purpose of identifying the mastery or nonmastery of multiple fine-grained attributes or skills required for solving problems in a domain. For CDMs to receive wider use, researchers and practitioners need to understand the basic properties of these models. The article focuses on one CDM, the deterministic inputs, noisy "and" gate (DINA) model, and the invariance property of its parameters. Using simulated data involving different attribute distributions, the article demonstrates that the DINA model parameters are absolutely invariant when the model perfectly fits the data. An additional example involving different ability groups illustrates how noise in real data can contribute to the lack of invariance in these parameters. Some practical implications of these findings are discussed .  相似文献

语言中总有一部分词或临时出现于另一类词的位置上而成为一种活用,或由于这种活用的广泛使用而成为一种兼类,而什么样的名词可以发生这种游移是一个值得探寻的问题。从《吕氏春狱》来看,不仅具有非典型特征的名词可以活用,具有高依附性的典型名词也可以活用。依附性的高低是指名词所表示的概念与其他概念关联的紧密程度。名词活用为动词的五种转喻模式反映了活用的模式和动因。动名之间活用的不平衡性则反映出汉语动词性可能的历时变化。  相似文献

We consider a multi-stage retrieval architecture consisting of a fast, “cheap” candidate generation stage, a feature extraction stage, and a more “expensive” reranking stage using machine-learned models. In this context, feature extraction can be accomplished using a document vector index, a mapping from document ids to document representations. We consider alternative organizations of such a data structure for efficient feature extraction: design choices include how document terms are organized, how complex term proximity features are computed, and how these structures are compressed. In particular, we propose a novel document-adaptive hashing scheme for compactly encoding term ids. The impact of alternative designs on both feature extraction speed and memory footprint is experimentally evaluated. Overall, results show that our architecture is comparable in speed to using a traditional positional inverted index but requires less memory overall, and offers additional advantages in terms of flexibility.  相似文献
