Ekman, B., Kahlin, K. &; Lundberg, U. (1970). A Study of the Social Structure of an International Children's Village. Scand. J. educ. Res. 14, 185‐194. Data were collected on 36 children from nine different countries, using observations of behaviour and sociometric measurements. After the conditions at the children's village had been stabilized, there was an increase in the frequency of contacts and towards the end the interaction between the children was intensive. The forcing of the language barrier did not go so far as the forcing of the international barrier. The sociometric data, which support the observational data, show that the outside‐nation preference was much greater at the end of the period than it was at the beginning. Five modes of communication were studied, viz. conversation, gesture, touch, shouting, and laughter. In this connection it could be noted that, towards the end of the period, a change took place from conversation to gesture, independently of the language group with which the children were communicating.  相似文献

This article, by Jon Olav Myklebust from Volda University, Norway, presents analyses of social security dependence among students with special educational needs in Norway who at the start of upper secondary school had various disabilities – of a somatic, psychological and/or social nature. They were all educated in ordinary schools, in special or regular classes. These young people have been followed prospectively from their first years in upper secondary school and into their late twenties. The analyses indicate which circumstances contribute to social security dependence, with an emphasis on how the independent variables differently influence social security dependence among men and women.  相似文献

The overall goal of the paper is to illuminate some of the substantial challenges, joys, issues and lessons involved with international counseling and to lend impetus to advancing its progress by embracing globally-relevant cultural principles. Five U.S. counseling professionals with extensive international experience recount aspects of their scholarship, teaching, research and service in that domain. The meaning of such experiences was analyzed from an ecological perspective. The analysis was then critiqued for its primary assertions and implications for the internationalization of counseling by two independent professional counseling commentators, both of whom have logged considerable life and work experience around the world.  相似文献

Skiing     
The purpose of the investigation was to study the relationship between thrust phase duration, ground reaction force, velocity increase after pole thrust and pole angles versus pole length during double poling in roller skiing. Seven male regional elite cross‐country skiers volunteered as subjects for the study. The subjects performed a maximal double pole thrust on roller skis with each of the three different pole lengths: ‘short’, self‐selected (normal) and ‘long’. The short and long poles were 7.5 cm shorter and 7.5 cm longer than the self‐selected pole length. The subjects made seven maximal pole thrusts with each pole length, which were randomly selected during 21 trials. For each trial the subjects accelerated from a 1.2 m high downhill slope attaining a speed of 3.92 m.s‐1 before making a maximal double pole thrust on a force plate placed at the bottom of the slope. The vertical (Fz), anterior‐posterior (Fy) and medio‐lateral (Fx) reaction forces of the left pole were measured by the force plate. The positions of the pole were recorded in 3‐D by an opto‐electronic system. Thrust phase duration, impulse, mean force, velocity increase after pole thrust and pole angles were calculated from the recorded data. Double poling with long poles produced a significantly larger propulsive anterior‐posterior reaction force impulse and velocity increase than normal (p < .05) and short poles (p < .05). This was in spite of a larger mean anterior‐posterior reaction force being produced with short poles. Thus, thrust phase duration was a primary factor in determining propulsive anterior‐posterior impulse. For the practitioner, the results can be useful in the selection of pole length when the aim is to increase thrust phase duration, anterior‐posterior force impulse and velocity.  相似文献

Abstract

The problem undertaken in this investigation was to examine the effects of teaching sports skills with and without an instant replay videotape recorder. Two random groups of freshman students at Washington State University were taught a 12-week unit in beginning trampoline. The experimental group used the VTR. The post-test-only control group design was used. Evaluation of performance was made by a three-man jury. The group means for the experimental and control groups were 80.57 and 79.36 respectively, clearly not significant at the preset level of acceptance of .10 (t = .27).  相似文献
