The Specialised Vocational Training Institutions (IMPro) in France have recently entered into a difficult, but important period of time. During the past few years, IMPro have faced increasing demand from the public and government to provide quality service to adolescents with intellectual disabilities. IMPro have been also faced with the challenge of being accountable for the low employment rate of adolescents with intellectual disability and their failure to obtain and/or maintain jobs due to lack of technical and social skills. The purpose of the present work was to respond to the increasing and urgent needs in IMPro by designing and developing a training system to enhance organisational productivity, increase employment rate, and eliminate the problems faced by workers with intellectual disabilities. This article describes the process of organisational changes in IMPro using systems thinking. It discusses the model, methods, tools, and techniques used in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the new system of training in IMPro in an attempt to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of their training programs. 相似文献

Quality of diagnostic data depends on accurate coding. The purpose of this study was to assess the accuracy of principal diagnosis coding and its effective factors. To achieve this aim, three hundred and seventy medical records were randomly selected and recoded blindly (as gold standard). The effects of possible factors on accuracy of coding which was gathered through observation method were analyzed by Chi-square (χ2), Fisher exact test, odds ratio (OR), and confidence interval 95% for OR. 相似文献

One form of educational inequality is the disparity that exists between urban and rural settings. Equal distribution of quality education is a challenge for developing countries due to the unavailability of resources. Various approaches to equal distribution are distance learning, telecast learning and e-learning; however, these approaches cannot achieve the desired objectives due to their limitations. This research aimed to investigate the interesting question of whether mobile technology can bring urban and rural settings closer together. A mobile application for learning Urdu grammar was designed to measure the learning gains of fourth-grade students at two different schools from urban and rural settings. A quantitative technique, the quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test method, was used to measure the effectiveness of the mobile application. The comparison of the students’ performances at the urban and rural schools illustrated the role of mobile technology in mitigating the educational gap. The present study provides evidence that children from different social backgrounds may benefit equally from mobile technology. 相似文献

How simple is reading in Arabic? A cross‐sectional investigation of reading comprehension from first to sixth grade 下载免费PDF全文
- The ‘simple view of reading’ model explains reading comprehension as the product of decoding and listening comprehension.
- This model explains between 70% and 83% of the variance in reading comprehension in English, in which the contribution of decoding and listening comprehension varies as a function of the level of the readers.
- Orthographic transparency and other unique characteristics of the languages studied might influence reading comprehension in these languages
- Arabic is a diglossic language that is characterised by relatively unique orthographic and morphological features for which the validity of the simple view of reading (SVR) has not been tested.
- The basic components of the SVR (decoding and listening comprehension) have explained between 56% and 38% of the variance in reading comprehension in children from the first to the sixth grade.
- Decoding, as one of the basic components of the SVR, failed to contribute to reading comprehension when orthography and morphology were considered.
- This large‐scale cross‐sectional study is the first of its type to assess reading comprehension in Arabic.
- The study justifies the necessity to assess the suitability of the SVR in languages with very specific linguistic characteristics such as Arabic.
- The results emphasise the necessity of considering the complex orthography and the rich morphology of Arabic for improving teaching, assessment and intervention.

In 1997, two organizations, BRAC (Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee) and ICDDR,B (International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research), as part of their collaborative research model, developed an HIV/AIDS prevention strategy for rural Bangladeshi youth. Currently, HIV/AIDS is not apparent in rural Bangladesh. Other sexual and reproductive health problems are more pressing. Moreover, there are few inor out-of-school sex education programs for adolescents in Bangladesh. Therefore, preliminary qualitative research was conducted to understand the broad parameters of sexual and reproductive health within the sociocultural context of young people's risks and vulnerabilities. Exploratory research revealed that youth were vulnerable to sexual diseases, late-term abortions, sexual violence, reproductive tract infections, and premarital pregnancies. Adolescents and adults thought that youth today need sex education. Adults said that youth should not be educated about condom use because this would conflict with a girl's prospects for an arranged marriage. Bangladeshi youth today are being exposed to experiences unfamiliar to their parents. Lacking appropriate knowledge, information and awareness about sexual and reproductive health unduly heightens young people's fears, and increases their social and sexual vulnerabilities. 相似文献

Wild cotton species can contribute a valuable gene pool for agronomically desirable cultivated tetraploid cultivars. In order to exploit diploid cotton a regeneration system is required to achieve transformation based goals. The present studies aimed at optimizing the conditions for regeneration of local varieties as well as wild species of cotton. Different callus induction media were tested with varying concentrations of hormones in which sucrose was used as nutritional source. Different explants (hypocotyls, cotyledon, root) were used to check the regeneration of both local cotton plants and wild relatives using T & G medium, BAP medium, CIM medium, EMMS medium, and cell suspension medium. Different stages of embryogenicity such as early torpedo stage, late torpedo stage, heart stage, globular stage and cotyledonary stage were observed in wild relatives of cotton. The results of this study pave the way for establishing future transformation methods. 相似文献
