Most natural language terms-such as verbs, nouns, conjunctions, prepositions-have a context-dependent meaning. The dependence of the meaning on the context changes with languages. This variability accounts for many errors made by students while learning a foreign language.ALICE is an interactive system which relies on a pragmatic representation of conceptual differences of linguistic terms in several languages (currently, subordinate conjunctions in English, French and Italian) and offers diagnostic and remedial strategies for mistakes made by a student in translating from or into any of the available languages.  相似文献

At the time of its introduction at the end of the 1980s, the concept of natural capital represented new, more ecologically aware thinking in economics. As a symbol of novel thinking, the metaphor of natural capital stimulated a debate between different disciplinary traditions on the definitions of the concept and research priorities and methods. The concept became a means to control the discourse of sustainable development. In this paper, I focus on the power/knowledge implications of the use of the concept, and I follow the career of the concept of natural capital in ecological economic publications between the years 1988 and 2000. The main interests are: (1) in the use of the concept to affect the rules according to which claims concerning sustainable development can be made and (2) in the constitution of objects of environmental knowledge.  相似文献

Providing learning support for students has been the most challenging issue for Universitas Terbuka (UT) in Indonesia since most students live in rural areas within which qualified tutors are hard to find. Attending face‐to‐face meetings within regular scheduled times is not feasible for most working students. Similarly, disseminating academic administration and information on time has also been very difficult to do since students are scattered throughout the country. These unresolved problems are believed to have resulted in low course completion. The recent development of ICT as well as its infrastructure in Indonesia has opened up a possibility for UT to provide its students with a fast, reliable and affordable two‐way communication channel. In accordance with this, UT piloted the use of ICT (specifically the Internet) to provide online tutorials to its students. It was expected that students taking advantage of the online tutorials would contribute to higher completion rates and achievement than those who did not. The project was carried out with the aid of a grant from the International Development and Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada. This paper reports the findings of that pilot project, which show that student participation in online tutorials does indeed improve course completion rates and achievement.  相似文献

This article considers a site of practice that fosters dialogic consciousness, which I suggest is necessary to teaching social justice and diversity of thought in all sites of practice, including schools. Consciousness of one's own perspective taking and the dialogism necessary to foster voice development are grounded in a growing awareness of our own multiple perspectives or understandings of the world and ourselves. This multiplicity is grounded in how we see the world and how we think the world sees us. Such multiplicity is dynamic in that what we know about ourselves and what we think others know about us are woven through a constant interaction of public and private selves. It is in this interaction that teachers can begin to explore voice and perspective taking with students. In this article, I present how teenagers in a community‐based theater ensemble used movement and writing to define their private and public selves, and conclude with possibilities for classroom practice.  相似文献

Many ‘alternative primary education’ programmes operating in the developing parts of the world use children’s first language as the medium of instruction. Programme sponsors often base their vernacular language policy on literature that highlights the cognitive and other benefits that accrue from using children’s first languages as the medium of instruction during their early stages in school. Working within a postcolonial discursive framework the paper examines the attitudes of community members, parents, school authorities and schoolchildren toward the use of the vernacular as a medium of instruction in the Shepherd School Programme, an alternative primary education programme, that has been implemented to provide improved educational access for schoolchildren in seven rural northern Ghanaian agri‐pastoral communities.  相似文献

以葛根异黄酮含量为44.2%的葛根粗提物为原料,通过对聚酰胺(13~40目)、AB-8、HP-20 三种树脂对葛根异黄酮静态吸附与解吸的比较,在筛选出一种具有较高吸附率与解吸率的树脂的基础上,系统优化了此种树脂柱分离纯化葛根异黄酮的技术参数.结果表明,静态吸附与解吸时,HP-20树脂最适合于葛根异黄酮分离纯化,吸附率、解吸率分别达57.53%、37.49%.HP-20树脂柱分离纯化葛根异黄酮的最优技术参数为:50%乙醇洗脱,流速0.9BV/h,3BV的洗脱液.在此工艺条件下,葛根异黄酮的洗脱率、纯度和得率分别达53.67%、55.78%和44.70%.  相似文献

以棉花细胞质雄性不育系“抗A”为材料.以其同核异质保持系“抗B”为对照。用透射电子显微镜技术,观察了不育系败育过程中小孢子母细胞与绒毡层细胞超微结构的变化。结果发现,不育系花药中的造孢细胞、小孢子母细胞和绒毡层细胞,在发育过程中出现了线粒体膨胀、内嵴模糊、基质淡化的异常现象,尤以小孢子母细胞减数分裂期最为明显:同时,这些细胞中的液泡也不正常,不育系小孢子母细胞中形成大量的液泡致使细胞液泡化。绒毡层细胞中则由小液泡逐渐融合形成大液泡,最后导致液泡膜破裂。线粒体和液泡结构异常可能是小孢子母细胞死亡造成雄性不育的细胞形态学特征。  相似文献
