Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of several non-infectious and infectious diseases including tuberculosis. In a prospective longitudinal study, TNF-α level in blood was estimated by sandwich ELISA using anti human TNF-α antibody, in 22 patients with active pleuro-pulmonary and lymphnode tuberculosis before and after chemotherapy and 8 healthy controls. Six patients and six controls had detectable levels (> 5 pg/ml) of TNF-α in blood. The mean TNF-α levels in controls and cases before and after treatment were 182.4pg/ml, 896.7 pg/ml and 678.7pg/ml pg/ml respectively. Though not statistically significant, there was a trend towards younger age, shorter duration of symptoms, presence of fever and anorexia, and high ESR, in patient with high serum TNF-α levels.  相似文献

Tissue polypeptide specific antigen (TPS) measures an antigenic determinant associated with human cytokeratin 18. TPS is a marker of tumor cell activity in contrast to markers related to tumor burden. The value of detecting circulating TPS lies in the early detection of recurrence by serial determinations and in the rapid assessment of the efficacy of the treatment. Pretreatment levels of TPS in patients with metastatic breast cancer are related with prognosis. Decreasing TPS levels during therapy monitoring indicate response and a fast response is correlated to favourable prognosis. Increasing TPS levels, in the presence of clinically stable disease or partial remission, predict disease progression with a considerable lead-time. Improved effectiveness in breast cancer management can be seen when TPS is used in combination with CA 15-3. When tumor marker determinations are applied in a proper way in the appropriate situation, the results can assist the oncologist. Thus monitoring of therapy in patients with metastatic breast cancer should be based upon serial TPS and CA 15-3 determinations in serum. The use of tumor marker determinations in the early follow-up interval following surgery to detect early tumor recurrence may be simpler, more sensitive and less expensive than imaging methods.  相似文献

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a global epidemic currently. This study was planned to evaluate markers of inflammation and hemostasis and their possible association, if any, in patients with CAD. The study was carried out in 60 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and 60 age and gender matched controls. The following parameters were assayed in all study subjects-inflammatory-interleukin (IL)-10, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, fibrinogen; hemostatic-fibrinogen, fibrin D-dimer and a novel risk factor—homocysteine. Inflammatory markers (hs-CRP, TNF-α and IL-10), fibrinogen, fibrin D-dimer and homocysteine levels were significantly higher in the patients with AMI, as compared with controls. A positive correlation was observed between D-dimer and the inflammatory markers—hs-CRP and TNF-α. Upon multivariate analysis, TNF-α emerged as the best determinant of CAD in our study. Our results indicate that there is a possible interplay of inflammation and hemostasis in CAD, underlining their synergistic role in the pathogenesis of CAD.  相似文献

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) results from the derangement of adipocyte physiology and carbohydrate metabolism. Obesity and insulin resistance (IR) are integral features of MetS. The adipokine alterations in MetS often correlate with IR and body fat content. High adipose tissue content is associated with a decreased production of adiponectin and excessive production of tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), all of which induce IR. The present study evaluated the adipokine alterations in MetS and their association with IR. The findings of the current study indicate that MetS is associated with significant decrease in adiponectin and increase in TNF-α and IL-6. The present study also found that the adipocyte derived inflammatory adipokines, TNF-α and IL-6 correlate with IR while the anti-inflammatory adipokines, adiponectin does not correlate with the degree and severity of IR.  相似文献

目的:本研究以中国优秀女子公路自行车运动员为研究对象,研究长期比赛对她们的心肌损伤标志物的影响,探讨肌钙蛋白(cTnI)早期诊断心脏疲劳的实效性,同时对人参和磷酸果糖的营养干预效果做动态观察。方法:经过30 d的多日赛后,比赛组心肌损伤标志物CK、CK-MB、CK-MB/CK、AST明显升高,cTnI平均值在正常范围。结果:和比赛组相比,比赛+人参组和比赛+果糖组的心肌损伤标志物CK、CK-MB、CK-MB/CK、AST水平明显降低。3个比赛组cTnI平均值在正常范围,组间差别不明显。结论:人参和果糖可以通过不同的机制保护心肌细胞膜的完整性,人参能增强机体对各种有害刺激的反应能力,加强机体适应性。cTnI诊断心肌疲劳的特异性和敏感性高于CK、CK-MB、CK-MB/CK、AST。  相似文献

目的对56例进展期胃癌患者进行4种血清肿瘤标记物联合检测评价,探索优选检测项目,提高诊断的灵敏度、准确性.方法应用酶免双抗夹心法测定SIMA和应用放射免疫方法测定CEA、CA50、CA19-9,共测定正常对照组33例健康成人和进展期胃癌56例.结果胃癌组4种血清肿瘤标记物均与正常对照组差异有显著性意义(p<0.05),其中正常对照组SIMA为(8.09±1.94)×103u/L,胃癌组SIMA为(90.47±28.51)×103u/L.SIMA的灵敏度和准确性高于其它3种,与CEA灵敏度相比,差异无显著意义(p>0.05),SIMA与CEA组合灵敏度升高至81.76%,高于单项灵敏度,高于其它组合灵敏度,差异有显著意义(p<0.05).结论SIMA是一种敏感的新型血清肿瘤标记物,SIMA和CEA可以作为联合检测胃癌的首选标志.  相似文献

We aim to investigate the association between elevated tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and high sensitivity-C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in abdominal obesity (AO) women subjects. A total of 428 AO subjects (age 48.4 ± 10.2 years), and 107 non-AO women subjects (age 48.8 ± 11.8 years) were enrolled for the all biochemistry testing, inflammatory cytokines, fasting insulin and Homeostasis Model Assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Body mass index, waist circumference (WC), blood pressure (BP), plasma glucose (Glu), triglyceride (TG), insulin, HOMA-IR and inflammatory cytokines were significantly higher and lower total antioxidant capacity, HDL-C in AO subjects (p < 0.05). WC was significantly correlated with BP, Glu, TG, LDL-C, insulin, HOMA-IR, TNF-α, IL-6 and negative correlation with HDL-C in AO subjects. Elevation of TNF-α, IL-6, hs-CRP and insulin resistance were significantly associated with T2DM in AO subjects, after adjusting with insulin resistance, increased oxidative stress, elevated TG and reduced HDL-C by using multiple logistic regression analysis. In conclusions, elevation of inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress and insulin resistance were associated with T2DM in AO women subjects. These inflammatory cytokines are positively associated with T2DM and may have a causal relation with an increased oxidative stress and insulin resistance in these AO women subjects.  相似文献
