This paper examines the initial steps of an internationally funded project focused on enhancing teachers’ conceptual and pedagogical knowledge of literacy development in the Western Cape of South Africa. We asked what are the tensions and breakthroughs when engaged in international teacher professional development? Four lines of inquiry support this work: internationalization and production of knowledge, professional development structures, communities of practice, and ethic of care. Resulting themes included initial barriers, localized professional development, and enhancing teacher capacity for change. To explain the themes, we identified four critical incidents. This study has potential to inform the international community of new directions for teacher learning. 相似文献

This paper presents a systematic literature review of School-University Partnerships (SUPs) that aim to promote changes in teaching and learning practices. Our analysis focuses on the evaluation of such SUPs, throughout their development process (from Exploration to Implementation and Sustainability). Our results highlight the nonlinearity of such development processes. The evaluation of the SUPs mainly relied on qualitative approaches and occurred primarily during the Implementation phase. Furthermore, the evaluation instruments used have seldom been validated or reused within the research community. Future research can focus on the development of reliable evaluation instruments, useable throughout the lifecycle of SUPs, to guide their decision-making. 相似文献

As we approach the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the British Educational Research Association (BERA), Vivienne Baumfield's inaugural presidential address reflects on who we are, how we got here and where we are going. On one level the answer to these questions is straightforward. BERA is a learned society established in 1974 to support educational research by building capacity, advancing quality and promoting engagement with a strategic plan identifying priority activities over the next 5 years. So far, so good, but does this tell us what we need to know? “双师型”教师的培养不仅需要学术资源的支持,也需要实践平台的保障。校企伙伴关系的构建能弥补其实践资源的欠缺。从关系构建的应然层面看,基于“双师型”教师的培养,构建校企伙伴关系的关键要素应包括明确的关系主体、多元的协作方式、健全的制度保障以及互利共赢的合作文化等。然而,目前校企合作的视阈更多集中在学生培养方面,“双师型”教师的合作培养存在被边缘化、合作主体动力不足、合作浅表化、制度建设不足等问题。对此,作为关键主体之一,应用型本科院校需要以学科优势或知识资本优势为依托,严格遴选伙伴协作对象;以组织为载体,健全伙伴协作组织机构;以制度为保障,完善伙伴协作相关机制,并加强伙伴协作共享文化建设。 相似文献
