The strengths and weaknesses of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) are described with reference to its origins, previous research and comments from critics and supporters. A case is made for this allegedly theoretical approach to provide the kind of outcomes focused intervention that psychology and psychologists can offer to schools. In particular, NLP includes a range of techniques that can be “given away” to teachers and students faced with examination pressures. The implication of such techniques with sixth form (Year 13) students in one secondary school in the South West of England is described and evaluated in terms of student comments on their helpfulness. The case is made for NLP as empowering some students to overcome exam anxiety and other related difficulties. A cyclical eight stage model is proposed for the application of NLP which is considered to offer the most likely effective learning outcomes. 相似文献

Ten HIV‐positive African American adolescent females were interviewed regarding disclosure of their HIV infection in various relationships. Communication Boundary Management (Petronio, 1991) provided a framework for understanding disclosure patterns in these relationships. Participants described expected (n = 113) and actual (n = 94) responses to disclosing an HIV diagnosis. The findings indicate that expected response and the target of disclosure affect adolescents’ disclosure decisions. Participants expected targets of disclosure to respond as follows: experience negative emotional reactions, provide support, treat them differently, tell others, or were unsure of a target's response. On the basis of these findings, five themes were identified related to actual responses to disclosure of HIV infection: different treatment, negative emotional reaction, received support, target told others, and treated no differently. This article deals with kinematic and kinetic conditions in volleyball attack and identifies loads in the shoulder joint. Joint angles and velocities of individual segments of upper limb were measured with the use of the motion capture system XSENS. Muscle forces and loads in skeletal system were calculated by means of mathematical model elaborated in AnyBody system. Spikes performed by players in the best and worst way were compared with each other. The relationships were found between reactions in shoulder joint and flexion/extension, abduction/adduction and rotation angles in the same joint and flexion/extension in the elbow joint. Reactions in shoulder joint varied from 591 N to 2001 N (in relation to body weight [BW] 83–328%).
The analysis proved that hand velocity at the moment of the ball hit (which varied between 6.8 and 13.3 m s–1) influences on the value of reaction in joints, but positions of individual segments relative to each other are also crucial. It was also proved in objective way, that position of the upper limb during spike can be more or less harmful assuming that bigger reaction increases possibility of injury, what can be an indication for trainers and physiotherapists how to improve injury prevention. 相似文献

[目的/意义] 情境建模是解决信息泛滥、信息过载、实现信息按需服务的重要手段,目前已有的知识库构建和知识融合方法普遍忽略了情境信息,阻碍了知识库的实际应用,降低了知识服务的效率和效果。[方法/过程] 综合考虑环境情境、个人情境和领域本体三个方面,提出一种情境本体驱动的多源知识融合框架,并以此框架融合生成基于情境的药物不良反应知识库ConADR Ontology。在本框架的指导下,以药物不良反应的知识库构建为例,半自动实现情境本体模式层的构建和数据层的扩充;并以情境本体作为中介本体,实现情境本体,药物不良反应领域本体ADReCS和人类疾病领域本体Disease Ontology间的融合;最终在此基础上实现基于SPARQL的案例查询。[结果/结论] 实例验证表明,本框架具有一定的可行性,对知识库的建设和应用具有理论性指导和参考价值。 相似文献

The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness of conceptual change text instruction (CCT) in the context of energy
in chemical reactions. The subjects of the study were 60, 10th grade students at a high school, who were in two different
classes and taught by the same teacher. One of the classes was randomly selected as the experimental group in which CCT instruction
was applied, and the other as the control group in which traditional teaching method was used. The data were obtained through
the use of Energy Concept Test (ECT), the Attitude Scale towards Chemistry (ASC) and Science Process Skill Test (SPST). In
order to find out the effect of the conceptual change text on students’ learning of energy concept, independent sample t-tests, ANCOVA (analysis of covariance) and ANOVA (analysis of variance) were used. Results revealed that there was a statistically
significant mean difference between the experimental and control group in terms of students’ ECT total mean scores; however,
there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control group in terms of students’ attitude
