This article is based on sociolinguistic research on multilingual adolescent friendship groups in England. It first describes some of the ways in which youngsters made use of one another's languages. It then discusses the relationship between this ‘language crossing’ and racism, suggesting that these processes of linguistic exchange point to the emergence of what Hall calls ‘new ethnicities’, grounded in an acceptance of multiracial difference. The last part of the article briefly points to some of the connections between this new interethnic sensibility and school.  相似文献

Language brokering occurs when immigrant youth linguistically and culturally mediate for family and members of U.S. mainstream culture. Under some circumstances, brokering can be stressful. Based on a theoretical model of communal coping, this study utilized two waves of survey data from 342 Latina/o sixth- to eighth-grade students to identify different types of copers: (a) communal copers, (b) tentative copers, and (c) declined-ownership copers. Communal copers reported greater brokering stress than tentative brokers in the middle of the year, but not by the end of the year. Communal copers reported greater brokering efficacy than tentative copers in the middle and end of the year. Declined-ownership copers consistently had the lowest brokering stress and moderate brokering efficacy.  相似文献

There are few studies that have directly examined teachers’ perceptions of children with ADHD, particularly children in the adolescent age range. The purpose of this study was to examine the perceptions of general‐education ninth through twelfth grade teachers regarding working with adolescent students with ADHD. Sorted responses from a sample of 100 general‐education high school teachers were analysed and then represented visually using a concept‐mapping technique. The final concept map suggests that teachers perceive adolescents with ADHD along two dichotomies of thematic clusters on an orthogonal axis. Clusters at the top area of the concept map suggest perceptions related to high confidence and willingness, while clusters at the bottom suggest perceptions related to uneasiness and frustration. Clusters along the left side of the concept map suggest perceptions related to behaviour issues, while clusters along the right side suggest perceptions related to classroom teaching issues. Central to the vertical and horizontal dichotomies is a solitary central dimension, which highlights training as an important component of teachers’ perceptions of adolescents with ADHD.  相似文献

对14、17和20岁青少年理想身体自我的研究发现,我国青少年理想身体自我是多维度的,有明显的性别差异。对男性理想身体,女性更喜欢性感和相貌因素,男性更看重力量因素;对于女性理想身体,男性更重视性感因素,女性更重视相貌因素。随年龄增长.青少年越来越看重性感因素,对男性身体越来越强调力量因素和一般魅力因素,对女性身体越来越强调相貌因素。体型指数BMI对青少年女性理想身体偏好有显著影响。  相似文献

我国已经成功实现了第一个百年奋斗目标,目前正在接受基础教育的青少年是我国实现第二个百年目标所依靠的重要力量,是支撑中国创新发展、参与国际竞争的核心人才储备。因此,迫切需要加快推进我国青少年创新素质教育,开创一种科学化培养和选拔人才的创新素质培养模式。文章通过对国内外创新素质培养与测评现状的分析,基于脑科学认知理论,结合心理学量化测评技术,提出了一种创新素质测评与训练的新模式,旨在改变传统评价体系,推动我国青少年创新素质培养。据此模式设计开发的素质测评范式和工具集,已在面向青少年的培养测评中得到实际检验,并将在未来的创新人才培养中进行更为深入地探索。最后,文章针对我国青少年创新人才培养,建议主要从创新素质最为核心的心理个性(创新人格)和认知能力(创新能力)两个方面进行测评和培养。  相似文献

This interview-based study explored the extent to which four academically successful Mexican American adolescents were engaged in age appropriate career development tasks as suggested by Super's (1957, 1984) theory. It also explored the adolescent's understanding of the role that ethnicity played in their career related behaviors. Findings suggest that these Hispanic adolescents were engaged in age appropriate tasks according to Super's theory and that both family and ethnic related factors were relevant to their career development.  相似文献

青少年价值观既受制约于改革开放带来的社会价值观的变迁,又带有自身特点。受社会价值观变迁的影响,青少年价值观分三个阶段从集体利益、整体利益、长远利益、精神利益、集体控制取向转向个人利益、局部利益、眼前利益、物质利益、自我实现取向。青少年价值观自身的特点主要表现为爱国无价、维护民族尊严,笃信自我、崇尚主体选择。根据青少年价值观的特点,在教育策略上应做到建构具有包容性的、合理的、积极有效的社会价值体系;尊重青少年的自主选择,肯定合理,引领高尚;加强社会管理规范和执法力度,为青少年成长提供一个清明、公正的社会环境。  相似文献

Sport is often considered as a promising instrument for reaching a wide array of policy objectives. Social inclusion is one of the goals frequently mentioned. Though one can argue about the feasibility of the many claims made, sport can only reasonably be expected to play a role if the targeted population is effectively taking part in sports. This is what is investigated in this study. The focus lies on the sports participation of children (primary school) and adolescents (secondary school), more particularly in a club-organised setting. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether family related factors associated with a higher risk for social exclusion can be considered as determinants of club sport participation among children and adolescents. Data are based on a large-scale cross-sectional survey (2009), collected in 39 schools in Flanders (Belgium), with a total of 3005 children and adolescents (aged 6–18) participating in the research. A multilevel logistic regression has been conducted, controlling also for differences between schools. Income poverty and parental education come forward as important determinants for club-organised sports participation. No evidence was found that living in a single parent-household affects the likelihood of club-organised sports participation. While sport is often considered as an important instrument for social inclusion, the study shows that children and adolescents who are likely to occupy a more vulnerable position in society as a whole, have higher odds to be left out with regard to sport club participation as well.  相似文献
