Review: Acute phase reaction and acute phase proteins

A review of the systemic acute phase reaction with major cytokines involved, and the hepatic metabolic changes,negative and positive acute phase proteins (APPs) with function and associated pathology is given. It appears that APPs represent appropriate analytes for assessment of animal health. Whereas they represent non-specific markers as biological effect reactants,they can be used for assessing nutritional deficits and reactive processes, especially when positive and negative acute phase variables are combined in an index. When such acute phase index is applied to separate healthy animals from animals with some disease, much better results are obtained than with single analytes and statistically acceptable results for culling individual animals may be reached.Unfortunately at present no cheap, comprehensive and easy to use system is available for assessing various acute phase proteins in serum or blood samples at the same time. Protein microarray or fluid phase microchip technology may satisfy this need;and permit simultaneous analysis of numerous analytes in the same small volume sample and enable integration of information derived from systemic reactivity and nutrition with disease specific variables. Applying such technology may help to solve health problems in various countries not only in animal husbandry but also in human populations.  相似文献

非洲菊花切花采后花序的可溶性蛋白质在初期（3d内）略有升高，后期下降；可溶性糖则呈下降趋势，在整个瓶插过程中，丙二醛（MDA）的含量不断上升，细胞膜透性不断加大，含糖保鲜剂可提高花序中的可溶性糖含量，延缓蛋白质的降解和保护细胞膜透性，从而延长了切花寿命。  相似文献

采用一步水热法制备了磁性Spinel型Fe-Mn氧化物/碳布纤维(FeMn2O4/CF)作为光催化剂,在可见光照射下光催化降解制药废水磺胺。考察了催化剂用量、磺胺初始浓度及初始pH值等因素,及催化剂的循环再利用性能,表明FeMn2O4/CF具有良好的催化降解性能。说明Spinel型材料在环境制药废水的处理中具有优异的发展前景。  相似文献   

Review: What we know about ST13, a co-factor of heat shock protein, or a tumor suppressor?

This article is to summarize the molecular and functional analysis of the gene "suppression of tumorigenicity 13"(ST13). ST13 is in fact the gene encoding Hsp70 interacting protein (Hip), a co-factor (co-chaperone) of the 70-kDa heat shock proteins (Hsc/Hsp70). By collaborating with other positive co-factors such as Hsp40 and the Hsp70-Hsp90 organizing protein (Hop), or competing with negative co-factors such as Bc12-associated athanogen 1 (Bag1), Hip facilitates may facilitate the chaperone function of Hsc/Hsp70 in protein folding and repair, and in controlling the activity of regulatory proteins such as steroid receptors and regulators of proliferation or apoptosis. Although the nomenclature of ST13 implies a role in the suppression of tumorigenicity (ST), to date available experimental data are not sufficient to support its role in cancer development, except for the possible down-regulation of ST13 in gastric and colorectal cancers. Further investigation of this gene at the physiological level would benefit our understanding of diseases such as endocrinological disorders, cancer, and neurodegeneration commonly associated with protein misfolding.  相似文献   

生物蛋白粉喂肉仔鸡效果的研究

试验选用AA肉鸡600只,随机分为三个处理组,每组200只,日粮处理,生物蛋白粉含量分别为0.5%和l0%.以测定生物蛋白粉在蛋白等能量基础上替代日粮中部分豆粕对肉仔鸡生产性能的影响.结果表明:10%生物蛋白粉替代组,耗料量和饲料增重比均显著下降(P<0.05):增重饲料成本分别降低0.07元和0.24元,经济效果显著.  相似文献

乌桕叶的蛋白质含量和氮到蛋白质的转换因子

10个品种的乌桕叶蛋白含量为(58～104)g/kg.乌桕叶品种之间的相对氨基酸含量差异不是非常明显,而在氨态和非蛋白质态氮水平上却是显著的.基于凯氏氮的10个品种的氮到蛋白质的转换因子(Kp)范围为3.73～5.97,表明传统的6.25的转换因子对乌桕叶蛋白不是很有效的.因此,一个平均的Kp值4.89±0.83可能提供乌桕叶蛋白质含量较好的估计.  相似文献
