Meaning in Life in College Students: Implications for College Counselors

The authors examined the relationship between meaning in life and college adjustment in a sample of 96 college students. In line with previous research on meaning in life and positive psychosocial functioning measures, presence of meaning was positively correlated with adjustment, whereas searching for meaning was negatively correlated with adjustment. However, the degree to which students were actively searching for meaning moderated the relationship between presence of meaning and adjustment. Recommendations for college counseling services are discussed.  相似文献

This article focuses on counseling research in the community college context. The article suggests the need for a robust community college knowledge base, describes some limitations of the current community college literature, and suggests a framework for more effective work in this area. Relationship violence is a salient concern on college campuses today, and psychoeducational groups may be an appropriate prevention format. This article describes a study measuring the impact of college student participation in the HEART (Help End Abusive Relationships Today) program, a series of group sessions designed to increase knowledge and awareness of relationship violence. Findings indicated significant changes for group participants postintervention. Implications and recommendations for college counselors are discussed.  相似文献

心理冲突与应激水平、主观幸福感关系研究

采用自编的心理冲突调查问卷、Cawte量表和主观幸福感指数量表(WBIS),调查531名大学生的心理冲突状况、应激水平及主观幸福感。结果为:(1)过多的心理冲突可引起生理与心理应激水平的升高;(2)心理冲突频率与应激水平呈显著的正相关(r=0.533,P<0.01);(3)心理冲突频率与主观幸福感呈显著的负相关(r=-0.158,P<0.01)。因此,过多的心理冲突已构成应激源,是影响学生身心健康的重要因素之一。大学生心理冲突问题应予以关注。  相似文献
