Interdisciplinary research collaborations are often encouraged within higher education while the practicalities of such collaborations are glossed over. This project specifically addresses the praxis of research collaborations, exploring how feminist academics within different countries and disciplines came together to explore their mutual concern about the perceived worth and well-being of early childhood practitioners. Engaging in a formal methodological dialogue over eight months, seven academics discussed, analysed and dissected their different investments in research methods and intents, with the aim of agreeing to a common methodological framework. Unexpectedly, what emerged was not a product, but a process. We argue that this process offers much to those seeking deep collaboration in and through shared research. Building on a collective research interest, we found ourselves in a process of becoming, germinating the seed of a transnational research cooperative, based on trust and mutual respect, rather than the arid methodological contract originally envisioned. 相似文献

The authors updated an earlier Delphi study identifying the research priorities for school counseling (Dimmitt et al., 2005 ). A 29‐member expert panel selected research questions from the prior study, generated new questions, and rank ordered the combined set. The results provide guidance for prioritizing dissertation topics, targeting future research, and focusing the scholarly efforts of counselor educators. 相似文献

In this paper, I discuss the existence of varying ideologies and perspectives within urban science classrooms and uncover
the importance of focusing on student and teacher practices as a means to bridge these disconnections. Specifically, I describe
the existence of corporate and communal ideologies and the dynamics that create the misalignment between groups that hold
allegiances to these varying belief systems. Utilizing three allied theoretical frames, this paper provides a multi layered
and timely analysis of the teaching of science in an urban high school in New York City. I conjoin Bourdieu’s sociocultural
theory, an analysis of social life through the use of the structure|agency dialectic, and a theorizing of corporate and communal
practice to embark on a journey into how African American and Latino/a students’ ways of knowing and being can be utilized
to meet the goal of improving their success in science.

大学物理教学实践中,光的衍射因为概念相对抽象,理论分析较多,成为光学部分的教学难点。但笔者发现,如果能将光的衍射与日常生活实践相结合,设计简单实验,并对其原理进行简单分析、对其应用领域进行拓展,能充分激发学生学习兴趣,大大提高教学效果。文章以光的夫琅禾费衍射知识点的教学实践为例,设计了测量数码相机镜头分辨率的实验,并讨论了夫琅禾费衍射对GoogleEarth卫星成像系统的影响,取得了不错的教学效果。 相似文献

This paper examines literacy under-achievement and the limitations of gender-based literacy reforms grounded in essentialist notions of masculinity. It draws on qualitative case-study research conducted in one Ontario secondary school in a working-class community. It focuses on two grade 9 students and their teacher who participated in a larger study which examines how the norms and values associated with school-based literacy practices contribute to under-achievement. The cases highlighted in this paper are employed to raise critical questions about the way in which literacy under-achievement continues to be articulated as a ‘boy problem’. This paper also illustrates how the complex and situated nature of the students’ gendered and classed identities, interwoven with contextual and pedagogical factors, contribute to literacy under-achievement for some boys and some girls. In addition, it argues that the disjuncture between in- and out-of-school literacy practices warrants further study. 相似文献
