介绍基于OpenURL的SFX Context Sensitive Linking和基于DOI的CrossRef这两种目前主流的动态链接系统。指出SFX具有本地化、互操作性强和可定制的特点，能够针对用户对资源的可获得性给出合适的链接；CrossRef链接直接指向出版社文献信息网页，链接准确稳定，但不适合用户获取最终文献。讨论CrossRef链接存在的问题，分析SFX的特点，并在此基础上提出将SFX与CrossRef/DOI结合使用的方法，指出这将增强和完善SFX的链接功能，同时解决CrossRef/DOI合适链接的问题。 相似文献

ABSTRACT ARIEL is a high-speed, high-quality, cost-effective document delivery system that runs on the Internet. Journal articles can be sent from one place to another by scanning the article directly from the journal. The text and graphics are digitized into the computer, transmitted over the Internet, and printed on a laser printer at the receiving end. Developed in 1990 by the Research Libraries Group of the Research Libraries Information Network, ARIEL is becoming the document delivery system of choice for a rapidly growing number of users in the U.S. and abroad. The key advantages which ARIEL has over the fax are: (1) no long-distance phone charges; (2) high image resolution; (3) original source can be scanned; (4) can send and receive documents at the same time; (5) does not require dedicated equipment; and (6) documents can be stored and forwarded at a later time. In the very near future, ARIEL software will incorporate MIME (Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions) technology which will enable documents to be transmitted to the screen via e-mail from one individual to another. This paper describes the hardware and software requirements, the cost of getting started, and one library's experience, as part of a pilot project, with the ARIEL document delivery system. 相似文献

Open URL link resolvers are emerging technological tools designed to increase use of library collections by automating the process of locating and accessing library holdings. This study examines the system architecture and capabilities of commercially available OpenURL link resolvers to assess viable options for the University of Connecticut Libraries. Data for the study, largely experiential feedback received from libraries employing OpenURL link resolvers, were gathered through a series of evaluative activities. These included a preliminary literature review, Web survey, follow-up e-mail survey, and on-site visits to libraries. Results were analyzed within the context of the University of Connecticut Libraries' resources and needs. Analysis revealed wide variation in library experiences with and perception of product functionality and performance, as well as requisite staff and financial investments. 相似文献

This paper presents experimental research on the contribution made by spectral analysis to the identification and dating of Persian ceramics with a blue glaze or blue motifs. Since we know that the characteristic blue colour of these ceramics can vary according to their composition and traditions of manufacture that are specific to the different centuries in which they were created, it would be interesting to determine whether a non-destructive and non-invasive method of analysis would be possible to date the ceramic without altering the object itself. To do this, 72 ceramics from the Royal Ontario Museum of Toronto, as well as 2 other dishes (a Qajar dish from the nineteenth century and a dish from the twentieth century) were photographed and readings of the blue colour present on the objects were processed using the ImageJ software. Colour values obtained were then plotted on a graph and sorted by century for analysis. This study shows that it is possible to date Persian ceramics using a photograph, a spectrometer, and calibrating software, to establish the century in which a Persian ceramic with blue glaze or blue motif was made. 相似文献
