Mathematical models for academic webs: Linear relationship or non-linear power law?

Previous studies of academic web interlinking have tended to hypothesise that the relationship between the research of a university and links to or from its web site should follow a linear trend, yet the typical distribution of web data, in general, seems to be a non-linear power law. This paper assesses whether a linear trend or a power law is the most appropriate method with which to model the relationship between research and web site size or outlinks. Following linear regression, analysis of the confidence intervals for the logarithmic graphs, and analysis of the outliers, the results suggest that a linear trend is more appropriate than a non-linear power law.  相似文献

我国提出全面推进依法行政，建设法治政府的目标已经时过两年。“推进”依法行政，意味着我国依法行政基本目标的实现不是一个纯粹自然演进的过程，而是一个在既定目标引导下进行的自觉推进过程。因此，推进依法行政的过程中，应当根据依法行政和法治政府的基本目标和要求，充分认识我国现阶段制约依法行政的因素；高度重视行政监督法律制度的建设和完善，尤其是要强化对抽象行政行为的监督和制约；注重法治观念和依法行政意识的培养，积极致力于为实现依法行政的基本目标创造条件。  相似文献   

发现抑或人工生成:科学实验与规律的双重关系

自然规律是随着宇宙的演化而自然生成的,而人类能够通过自己的实践活动实现新规律的人工生成。科学实验作为科学研究的重要基础和手段,人们能够通过纯化简化实验发现自然界原本存在的自然规律,也能够通过强化激化及特殊实验和技术科学实验人工生成自然界原本不存在的新规律。人工生成新规律,改变了人与规律关系的传统认识,并使人们充分认识到在科学研究和技术开发活动中,设定新技术目标、加强实验仪器和设备的研制、加强稀有资源的研究开发与保护、加强技术科学研究等具有特别重要的意义。  相似文献

[目的/意义]构建数学模型研究网络话题传播规律建模和预测问题，为深入研究网络话题传播规律提供理论参考。[方法/过程]定性分析网络话题传播的大数据特征、可量化性、可度量周期性、可预测性等特征，通过分析网络话题传播机理，构建网络话题传播规律的常态模型和衍生模型，提出划分网络话题传播阶段的一般方法，并据此研究网络话题传播趋势预测方法。[结论/结果]通过"雾霾"微博话题数据开展实证分析，能够较好地划分传播阶段并预测传播趋势，由此，根据本文构建的数学模型研究网络话题传播规律是可行的。  相似文献

Many computer users are happy to be oblivious of the workings within the machine and yet on some level it is important to know what is occurring therein. This paper discusses an unusual type of surveillance software which may be installed in many computers. The strange aspect of this software is that it has often been downloaded and installed by the user, but without her knowledge. The software is mainly designed to collect information about the user of the computer and relay this information back to the software manufacturer. The download, installation, data collection and data transfer all take place within the users own computer but very seldom with the users knowledge. It is the intention of this paper to describe the technology involved and thereafter discuss how this new technology is affecting the online privacy debate. The paper continues to discuss the basis for legitimacy of technology and also the current level of technological deterrents available. The paper concludes with a comparison of two approaches at resolving the current problem, via legislation or the market approach.  相似文献
