The purpose of this review is to further our knowledge about what is meant by inclusion in research addressing the topic. While it is common to remark that inclusion is defined in different ways in research, few attempts have been made to map and analyse different types of definitions and whether there are patterns to be find in how the concept is used. The 30 most cited journal articles from a North American and a European research arena were selected for analysis. Each article was analysed in relation to genre, theoretical tradition and inclusion concept used. The review yielded several important results. To name a few, a divide was identified between position articles, with developed discussions about and analyses of the meaning of inclusion, and empirical articles, where inclusion signifies that children with disabilities are placed in the mainstream. In addition, writing within a critical theoretical tradition was much more common among positional papers. Further, both arenas are dominated by Anglo-Saxon researchers. It is argued that the conceptual confusion characterising the field impedes its development. 相似文献

There is an expectation that college students graduate with competency in information literacy. Ideally, institutions of higher education integrate these competencies throughout their curricula in a progressive manner. High-impact educational practices contribute to student success. The purpose of this article is to examine recent literature about five of the high-impact educational practices (capstone experiences, learning communities, service learning and community-based learning, undergraduate research, and writing-intensive courses) to understand the extent to which they include the integration of information literacy competencies. The article includes recommendations for practice and research in the areas of assessment, pedagogy, and program planning. 相似文献

AbstractUndergraduate research experiences provide excellent examples of high-impact practices. They rely on inquiry-based learning to provide important capstone experiences for the students. However, they are time-intensive for mentor faculty. In an attempt to scale up our faculty’s ability to offer such experiences, we combined a number of projects into one class: the Biomathematics Workshop. This article chronicles the experiences of one student from that class interspersed with comments from his mentor. Our goal is to illustrate some of the twists and turns in his journey and the unexpected but valuable lessons the student (and the mentoring team) learned. 相似文献

AbstractHigh-impact practices (HIPs) have been adopted on college campuses to enhance student learning. The academic library provides services and space contributing to learning at its institution. Librarians conduct space research to learn how the library building can better serve its users. Library space assessment is one way for librarians to engage with faculty and students to create an HIP in the library. This article is a case study of a collaboration between a librarian and a sociology professor to design an observational study. It demonstrates how librarians can contribute to HIPs at their institution by involving students in meaningful research. 相似文献

从可视化分析的角度对比研究中美俄三国航空航天领域的发展概况。以JCR收录的航空航天工程领域的外文源刊为数据源,选取这些期刊在2004—2013年10年间所刊载的论文为研究对象,利用Cite Space分析工具,结合传统的文献计量方法,从论文产出、高影响力作者、研究机构和前沿术语4个层次对比研究中美俄航空航天工程领域的研究现状和研究趋势。研究发现,论文产出方面,中国的论文总量已接近美国;高影响力作者和研究机构方面,中俄与美国相比仍有较大差距;前沿术语变化趋势方面,中国的研究偏向于控制系统的优化,美国偏向于飞行模拟与系统设计,俄罗斯偏向于飞行运动与轨道建设。 相似文献

摘要：社会网络分析可以对体育科研合作关系进行精确的量化分析，揭示了体育领域的潜在联系。通过中国学术期刊网络出版总库（CNKI）、万方、维普中文科技期刊库等检索出体育领域被引频次排名前1000名的高影响力文献，计1028篇。以我国体育学高影响力论文的机构为研究对象，采用社会网络分析与可视化方法，构建了体育机构之间的合作网络知识图谱，从可视化分析、中心性分析、凝聚子群分析与核心-边缘结构分析等四个角度进行分析，评价体育学高影响力学术论文机构在合作网络中的地位，研究机构合作网络中的核心团体及对资源控制情况，探讨体育机构科研合作形成的机制及影响因素。研究表明，体育高影响力论文大多由机构之间合作完成，体育学领域机构的中心性与发文量成正相关，机构之间以内部合作为主，信息分享与科研合作机会众多，机构合作的核心位置与发文量不成比例。需进一步扩大体育领域机构间科研合作的范围和规模，加强机构的体育科研产出与合作的协调发展，以推动体育科学创新能力的提高，加快体育院校学科发展的国际化进程。 相似文献

High-impact practices foster student success, but faculty faced with heavy teaching loads and lack of resources and infrastructure are challenged to implement such practices. Kinesiology faculty at California State University, East Bay collaborated to implement two student programs: Kinesiology Research Group and Get Fit! Stay Fit! The Kinesiology Research Group, a faculty–student research group, and Get Fit! Stay Fit!, a service learning experience, partnered to consolidate human and structural resources. Student–faculty mentoring circles were used to support this innovative partnership.
