一首先,谈谈我对美国语言教学的印象。我于1979年赴美,1980年春回国。在美国参观了约三十所学校。其中大多数是大学,还有一些中学和一、两所小学。除观摩了一些外语课以外,我还跟一些教师,包括几位有名的教学法专家交谈过。通过这些活动我对美国的语言教学有了一些粗浅的了解。目前美国人学习外语(主要是德、法、西班牙语)的兴趣日趋下降。学习外语的人数比二十年前少得多。外语教师过剩,不少人不得不改行。总之,美国的外语教学给人一种不景气的印象。关于这种下降趋势的原因,美国总统特別委员会有一篇关于外语教学的报告,对美国外语教学动态作了详细的阐述,这里就不多谈了。在美国,英语做为第二语言(以下简称ESL 相似文献
