The comments in this article are designed to survey productive fields of a contemporary directed history of sport in a heuristic way. These comments represent a resolute plea for an in-depth interdisciplinary access to sport whereby in particular a hermeneutic perspective is seen as being productive. The main question on the meaning which reaches out beyond the performative completion of a sport activity contains an interdisciplinary cultural scientific programme, which must pay equal attention to the historical prerequisites of the narrative form and the medial constitution of such a generation of importance. Historians have also recently turned their attention to the cultural powers of sport. Classical questions on the functionalisation of sport by politics still attract the attention of contemporary history. 相似文献

Since the 1970s, the de‐differentiation of high and low culture has legitimized the curation of craft and popular culture. The curation of some crafts, such as quilting, has assisted in reducing art‐craft distinctions, and the exhibition of fashion and popular music has highlighted links between folk culture (e.g., stories, songs, and crafts) and mass culture. With reference to the craft of knitting, we draw on the concept of the contact zone) to show how the current breaching of museum boundaries by yarn bombers can draw further attention to inclusions and exclusions in museum curation. Just as traditional age and gender distinctions are both problematized and perpetuated in public images and press reports on knitting, we argue that discussion of new forms and new contributors to curation processes may be tempered by broader analysis of the representation of craft within popular culture. 相似文献

This study extends earlier research on the television generation's media‐related behavior. Those who have grown up with TV are often said to be (therefore) more devoted to TV and less inclined to read than people born earlier. To provide evidence, data on TV and newspaper use and on attachment to both media in Germany, 1970–1995, were cohort‐analyzed, controlling for the age‐specific effect of the introduction of private TV in the mid‐eighties. While younger birth cohorts are less interested in the newspaper, the TV generation is not more devoted to TV than most of the preceding cohorts. 相似文献

Dyslexia is a complex reading and writing disorder with a strong genetic component. In a German case-control cohort, we studied
the influence of the suspected dyslexia-associated gene DCDC2. For the first time in a German cohort, we describe association
of a 2445 basepair deletion, first identified in an American study. Evidence of association for three DCDC2 single nucleotide
polymorphisms (rs807724, rs793862, rs807701), previously identified in German or American cohorts, was replicated. A haplotype
of these polymorphisms showed evidence for association as well. Thus, our data further corroborate association of DCDC2 with
dyslexia. Analysis of functional subgroups suggests association of investigated DCDC2 variants mainly with nondysphonetic,
nonsevere, but probably dyseidetic (surface) dyslexia. Based on the presumed function of DCDC2, our findings point to a role
of impaired neuronal migration in the etiology of the disease.
