The application of online learning and educational technologies in higher education has changed teaching methods, the channels of delivering learning materials, and modes of communication between teachers and students. This study is aimed to improve learning effects and investigate, via quasi-experiments, the effects of web-mediated socially-shared regulation of learning (SSRL) and experience-based learning (ExBL) on improving students’ learning results. The experimental design in this study was a 2 (SSRL vs. non-SSRL)?×?2 (ExBL vs. non-ExBL) factorial pretest/post-test design. Four classes in a one-semester course titled “Applied Information Technology: Data Processing” at university level were chosen for this study. Based on the analysis carried out in this study, students who received the treatments of web-mediated SSRL and/or ExBL did not have significantly better computing skills in using Excel. The reasons for these insignificances and implications thereof are discussed in this paper. Nevertheless, students in the SSRL and non-ExBL class had significant increases in scores for their learning motivation at the end of semester compared with the beginning. 相似文献

Several researchers have investigated the effects of computer simulations on students’ learning. However, few have focused
on how simulations with authentic contexts influences students’ inquiry skills. Therefore, for the purposes of this study,
we developed a computer simulation (FossilSim) embedded in an authentic inquiry lesson. FossilSim integrated data from real
field investigations with geological laws for identifying the sequence of geological events. Data were collected from two
experiments to examine ninth graders’ abilities for reconstructing a sequence of geological events with the aid of FossilSim.
The sample groups in Experiments 1 and 2 were 58 and 11 ninth graders, respectively. The results indicated that the authentic
inquiry lesson promoted the development of students’ inquiry skills. In addition, FossilSim played a key role in engaging
students to apply geological laws, make multi-scale observations, and clarify their ideas about geological time. 相似文献

This article examines the effects of R&D internationalization and organizational slack on innovation performance. We suggest that there is an S-shaped relationship between R&D internationalization and innovation performance. Innovation performance increases in the decentralization stage, decreases in the transition stage, and increases again in the recentralization stage. In addition, organizational slack is hypothesized to have a negative moderating effect on the S-shaped relationship. Longitudinal data on 210 Taiwanese firms in the information technology sector during a 10-year period is collected to test the hypotheses. The findings support our prediction. Managerial implications and future research directions are discussed. 相似文献
