This study attempts to examine the colligational use of the high-frequency verbs DO, HAVE and BE in Chinese EFL learners’written production in the CIA (Contrastive Interlanguage Analysis) approach. Findings of the study indicate that: Chinese learners use a much smaller variety of colligational patterns, they tend to underuse the inflected forms of these verbs in their colligations and they tend to use pronouns as the subject of these verbs. Though at advanced level, they still have difficulty with grammar in terms of tense, aspect and voice. The influence of L1 transfer, the learners’spoken style in writing, the classroom teaching and the learners’use of the avoidance strategy are thought to be the major reasons. The findings in this study may have some light to shed on the EFL teaching and research in China. 相似文献

Reading historical intelligence community documents primarily through the lens of Kenneth Burke's essay “Semantic and Poetic Meaning,” this article explores the history and stakes of the intelligence community's ongoing commitment to a problematic model of language use. The essay argues that the intelligence community's pursuit of a “mathematical” ideology of language is an attempt to render language “neutral” and to divorce rhetoric from ethics in ways that Burke anticipated, and with negative consequences for the generation of written intelligence reports and national policy decisions. 相似文献

This study investigates how school-level standardized testing policy at Grade 1 is directly and indirectly linked to math achievement in primary grades. Using nationally representative Early Childhood Longitudinal Study-Kindergarten Cohort data drawn from the U.S., the sample consists of 6774 children nested in 925 elementary schools. Findings from a multilevel full structural mediation analysis indicate that despite children’s short-term gains at Grade 1, the positive effects of frequent testing policy at Grade 1 do not persist in Grade 3. In contrast, school-level standardized testing policies were negatively associated with math achievement at Grade 3 mediated by procedural instructional approaches (e.g., drills). The findings provide empirical evidence on the validity of standardized testing in primary-grade mathematics and offer implications for teachers, educational policymakers, and researchers. 相似文献

[目的/意义]安全审查是一项被世界各国普遍采用的安全制度,目的是从源头预防和化解国家安全风险。我国的国家安全审查存在着“重物轻人”的系统缺陷,人的因素成为最薄弱的环节,情报人员安全审查问题亟待加强重视改善、探索制度创新。[方法/过程]将风险评估的理念及方法引入情报人员安全审查中,提出安全审查应当遵循“完全审查”“内外兼顾”“水平区分”“工作需要”的基本原则,从审查主体、审查类型、审查间隔、对象分级、风险评估、动态管理等几个方面对制度框架进行设计,构建了一套综合、立体、可操作的情报人员安全审查新机制。[结果/结论]这套机制将为国家安全理论研究和相关的工作实践提供实用的参考,在实施中可以示范项目的形式试点运行、逐步推广应用,并建立相应的审查报告制度。 相似文献

Abstract This paper explores Guy J. Pauker’s works on Indonesia in the 1960s, particularly the ones concerning the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) before and after the killing of six top Army officers on 30 September 1965 (called the ‘1965 Affair’ for short). Of Western scholars working on Indonesia in 1960s, Pauker was indeed infamous. Being a consultant for the CIA‐sponsored RAND Corporation has made his academic integrity doubtful. In addition, his active roles in several historical events in Indonesia in the 1960s have given his scholarship a bad reputation. Consequently, it is his name, rather than his works, that has often been mentioned and associated with what happened in Indonesia in the 1960s. However, this paper argues that precisely because of such a position, his pre‐‘1965 Affair’ works were to give a cool report and analysis of the current history, through which one can understand better the PKI before it was exterminated due to being accused of masterminding the killing of six top Army officers. Through these works the narrative of the Communist past can ironically be freed from the demonizing image constructed by the New Order regime. Yet, his post‐‘1965 Affair’ works were not only in parallel with, but also a part – if not the core – of the demonization as such. Through his ways of seeing the PKI in 1960s, one can see the shift from Baconian knowledge/power to Foucaultian power/knowledge relations. 相似文献

基于学习者语料库的中介语对比,量化分析了非英语专业学习者笔语中连接副词的使用情况。与以往研究不同的是,文中以T单位为频率计算基数。研究发现与本族语者相比,中国非英语专业学习者在连接副词使用方面呈现三个特征:总体上多用连接副词,其中时序类使用尤为频繁,因果类则使用不足;丰富度不高,倾向于频繁使用少数连接副词;连接副词的使用频率与学习者作文质量成反比。 相似文献
