| 摘 要： | 薇拉·凯瑟以她的小说文明于世 ,尤其是以内布拉斯加为题材的几部作品。这些作品高度赞扬了拓荒精神。薇拉·凯瑟早期作品《我的安东尼娅》中 ,拓荒精神植根于人们心间。而且人类的奋斗和对理想的追求这个主题贯穿了她的主要作品 ,如《教授的住宅》 ,《死神来访大主教》。小说中 ,凯瑟强调精神价值。她的主要人物大多是勇敢的拓荒者、艺术家、圣徒。他们一生都在追寻属于自己的精神家园

| Abstract: | Willa Cather is noted for her novels,especially Nebrasba novels which sing high praise of the pioneer spirit.In Cather's early works,My Antonia,the pioneer spirit is not only rooted in adults but also in children.Moreover the theme of people's struggle and their search for ideal runs runs through Cather's major works such as The Professor's House,Death Comes for the Archbishop.Cather stresses spiritual value and shows sympathy to common people throughout her novels.Her major characters,are pioneers,artists,saints who search for their own spiritual world in their lifetime. |
