| 摘 要： | 沃尔特国·惠特曼(1819—1892)是美国十九世纪著名的民主诗人。他的诗作《草叶集》表达了他对自由、民主的渴望及对未来美国的信心;而在诗歌的形式上,他大胆地采用自由诗的形式。“五四”新文学运动是中国历史上一次伟大而彻底的文学革新运动,把中国文学推到了一个崭新的阶段。

| Abstract: | Walt Whitman was an outstanding democratic poet in 19th century in America.His epic Leaves of Grass expresses his longing for the freedom and democracy and the confidence in the future of America.In the form of poem,he utilized the form of free verse bravely.May-Fourth New Literature Movement is an important and profound movement in the literary history of China,which pushes Chinese literature forward to a new period.Therefore,from the aspects of the free and democratic spirits,poetic techniques and language,this thesis explores Whitman's influence on the May-Fourth New Literature. |
