| Abstract: | Metaphor is one of figures of speech frequently used in both Chinese and English.The relation between metaphorsin Chinese and English is homologous or nonhomo logous;This paper points out the different cultural traits of the two nations reflected from the use of metaphor;then it discusses the problem of how to use metaphor effectively in intercultural communication. |
