| Abstract: | Medea was a peculiar female image in Greek mythology while Liu Lan-zhi was the heroine in An Old Poem Composed for the Wife of Jiao Zhong-qing. From the happenings to the said two wives, we can see the similar fate for wives in the same era but under different cultural background. As deserted wives, they are tragic characters and from them we can notice the beauty and ugliness of human nature. |
