| 摘 要： | 容闳对近代中国社会的贡献是以其介入主流社会为前提的。容闳介入晚清主流社会的历程充满坎坷，虽有局部的成功，但总体上是失败的。他介入晚清社会的动机、行为和方式贯穿了传统与新知的矛盾，体现出本土文化与西洋文明之间的冲突和较量。容闳一直“借力”谋求报国的理想，虽取得部分的成功，但他与主流社会之间的“断裂”又终究使他成为失败的悲剧人物。容闳介入晚清主流社会的曲折历程，正是近代中国的众多留学生归国后社会经历的缩影。

| Abstract: | Rong Hong's contribution to modern China is on the premise of interposing into the mainstream society in the late Qing.His course of interposition is full of frustrations.His ending is in failure in spite of some success in parts.The confliction of tradition and modernity is involved in his motives,actions and manners,reflecting the differences and conflictions between Confucian culture and western culture.Rong Hong's success contributes to his ideal of dedication to his motherland,but the disconnection with the mainstream society makes him a failed and tragic person.Rong Hong's rough course of interposing into the mainstream society in late Qing Dynasty is an epitome of the returned students in modern China. |
