| Abstract: | Founded in 1930 and awarding Candidate of Science and Doctor of Science degrees, the U.S.S.R. Financial and Economic Institute for Distance Education is one of 14 specialized distance teaching institutions at higher education level in the country. Its structure and contribution to the provision of higher education in the U.S.S.R. are analysed. Distance teaching methods, use of media and proposals for the future of distance education in the U.S.S.R. are presented. |
