Abstract: | Macaulay combined historical‐normative and comparative approaches in his critical evaluations of British parliamentary speakers. His criticism, though lacking in subtlety and precision, was based upon wide knowledge and parliamentary experience, and constitutes an important body of criticism to the contemporary student. |
