| Abstract: | CERNet is the first nation wide computer network which is promised to connect all the universities, institutes, primary and high schools, and other education and research entities in China. This paper outlines the project objective and three layer hierarchy on national backbone, regional infrastructures and campus networks. Some valuable measurements are presented in the paper to discover some interesting stories inside CERNet. Clearly CERNet which is the biggest nation wide network in the country with the largest population has already demonstrated its enormous effects on the communications between China and the outside world. |
