| 摘 要： | 《东方杂志》知识分子认为近代中国的新闻传媒的现状是：发行量小,种类少;内容贫乏;与外国报纸在竞争中处于弱势地位;新闻记者素质低下。未来新闻传媒要发展,必须要注意：多设报馆;调整报业的社会功能;选用良好的新闻记者;多设英字报;报纸自由;新闻与意见分离。《东方杂志》知识分子还对报纸与杂志进行界定,并认为社会性是近代新闻传媒的一个重要特征。

| Abstract: | Intellectuals from The Eastern Miscellany pointed out that media in China are of the many drawbacks, namely, low volume of circulation, few types, sterile contents, weak competitive power, and low moral state of journalists. Therefore, the future development of journalism should be focus on the following aspects, such as establishing more news agencies, adjusting the social function of newspapers, employing qualified journalists, publishing more newspapers in English, and separating news from opinions. The Eastern Miscellany also takes sociality as one of the significant features of media. |
