| Abstract: | This article makes a few general remarks about the difference between the frameworks of the subjunctive mood of the English verb which were proposed by traditional grammarians and modem ones, expounds three uses of the present subjunctive, explores its essential grammatical meaning and denotes the corresponding relationship between its meaning and use. |
