| 摘 要： | 《麦克白》和《琼斯皇》都是表现人欲的狂想剧，两剧主人公都经历了在欲望驱使下的心理畸变，其中充溢着狂想的幻象(illusions)和意象(images)。本通过平行比较的方式对两剧的表现手法作了探究，评析两剧中广泛采用的幻象和意象，强调了它们对提升主题的重要作用。结语简评了奥尼尔对莎士比亚的承继性。

| Abstract: | Macbeth and The Emperor Jones are both rhapsodic plays revealing human desires. Driven by desires, protagonists in the two plays have both experienced psychological distortions which overflow with wild illusions and images. Through a parallel comparison, this paper probes into the ways of expression in both plays, discusses and analyses the illusions and images extensively employed, and stresses the important role they play in heightening the theme. The conclusion is a brief comment on O'Neill's inheritance from Shakespeare. |
