| 摘 要： | 通过对索尔·贝娄文学生涯中比较重要的一部小说《赛姆勒先生的行星》的深入研究发现,从小说创作技法的角度来看,这部充分体现索尔·贝娄小说特点的作品有力地说明了索尔·贝娄是一位堪称典型的现代主义作家。作家先后运用了意识流、歧义与反讽、象征意义、变换的叙事角度以及时空交错等手法,而这些无一不是现代主义作家常用的技法。

| Abstract: | Through a close examination of his Mr.Sammler's Planet,we will see that Saul Bellow is a propo- nent of high modernism in terms of craftsmanship.The stream-of-consciousness technique,irony and ambiguity,the use of symbols,the frequent shifts of narrative voice and the juxtaposition of the past and the present are all prominent features of Bellow's craftsmanship in his Mr.Sammler's Planet.And they are also widely accepted by most critics as modernist nar- rative devices.That is the very reason why Saul Bellow is seen as a modernist as far as Mr.Sammler's Planet is con- cerned. |
