Abstract: | Abstract A long-time practitioner of the reference craft shares some thoughts on the contemporary problems faced by people who are information providers. Included are observations on how to improve in-house access tools, one's professional abilities, and the caliber of public service. The author concludes with some observations about what he sees as a trend toward depreciation of the need for good public assistance. |
