| Abstract: | The Internet is becoming a key player in the provision of career, job, and employment information, though it is still being readied for prime time use. Libraries and career and job services are in a transitional phase that is leading to common use of the Internet. While there is a sense of urgency to jump on the Internet bandwagon, professionals havc time to learn and assimilate this new electronic culture. This article presents a broad understanding of Internet development, discusses barriers to both learning and teaching the Internet, offers tips and methods for hurdling these barriers, and briefly describes some of the career job sites currently found on the Internet. |
