作为通用语的中国英语专业语音教学

摘    要:长期以来,低效的中国英语专业语音教学对教学理念的变革和调整提出了要求.把英语视为通用语的英语语音教学理念或将可能成为今后英语专业语音教学的发展趋势.基于Deterding教授关于中国英语通用语共核的实证研究,探讨通用语教学理念的必要性、可行性和局限性.从目前国内的关注度来看,通用语英语教学理念仍面临着诸多限制,如师生对该理念的认同度、学生英语语音变体的接触面、中国英语通用语共核的研究程度等.该理念的可行性与局限性并存,对未来的英语专业教学具有重大的启示意义.

Abstract:Inspired by Deterding's findings of Chinese Lingua Franca Core (LFC), the current study looks into the feasibility of teaching English pronunciation for English majors in China through English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) approach. The critical review of Deterding's study leads to the causes of the dominance of the native - speaker norms in China English teaching. The economic, historic, and social development has witnessed the coming of ELF approach whose practice is limited by such factors as learners'learning psychology, Englishes exposure, and the research in Chinese LFC. In the age of Englishes, efficient communication calls for effective teaching which will be achieved through the ELF approach.
