Abstract:In the 20th century, curriculum experiments in the Western countries underwent three upsurges: activity curriculum, structural curriculum and humanist curriculum. A study of the historical development of the curriculum experiments in the Western countries is conducive to our summarization of the successful experience and lessons of curriculum experiments in the West and significant to our on going curriculum reform and experiments for basic education.
